    Clutch maintenance - worn parts

I'll start looking into that. I saw my current team clutch is now replaced by the adapt clutch, and the price is fairly reasonable. If I see any issues I may look into that. Of course the pins and weights would be extra either way.

    Clutch maintenance - worn parts

Thanks for the picture. I haven't taken the seal off a bearing before. I would have thought it wouldn't go back in easily but apparently it does. I changed the skid bearings not too long ago and kept the one that were smooth. I could practice on one of those. I'm thinking I'll keep this sled...

    Clutch maintenance - worn parts

Thanks. I have the bearing to go on the driveshaft. Been meaning to do that for a couple years. Actually bought the bearing and the BOP repair kit suggested on ty4stroke, depending on what the shaft looks like. I haven't heard of many failings on the jackshaft but I'll look at adding grease to...

    Clutch maintenance - worn parts

Was going to pull the clutches on my 18 cat 600. Has 8K on it. Figured I'd clean them and at least change the springs. I haven't done any maintenance on them in the past. My last sled was an 06 Poo 600, and I dropped the clutches at Goodwin at a similar mileage and had them go through them, and...

    The Groomer Guy has retired!

First time we rode up there was the year before halfway haven reopened so we drove up to Wawa. Never got close to 0 (Fahrenheit). I remember starting my 600 Fusion up and the temp gauge for the engine showed -48 or something like that. Took a minute to get to operating temps. Have been hooked...

    Snow Boot sizing

I'll take a look. Cheapest klim boots are now $300....I think every bit of gear I have has been bought at significant discount

    The Groomer Guy has retired!

Hopefully they talk him in to grooming in Sudbury. I'm sure they could use his expertise there, although I know his family responsibilities take up his time these days.

    Snow Boot sizing

They did, and the original team stayed on and cat put some money into it and it grew quite a bit, but everyone got canned by textron and they outsourced it to powertex. I knew a couple people in it (one came from klim and another from polaris) and other than the dumb name I've liked all the gear...

    Snow Boot sizing

Motorfist. The one with the higher amount of insulation. I have a pair of motorfist boots, but the lower insulated ones. Kind of like klim adrenaline/arctic, so I'd have one with more and one with less insulation. I'm going to get them back out and walk around a bit but I'll probably pass. I got...

    2025 Sleds

https://snowgoer.com/news/polaris-announces-long-list-of-updates-and-focus-on-quality/32282/ All the powertrain updates make me wonder what issues they've been having. And I tend to like Polaris so not hating on them.

    Snow Boot sizing

Random question - but we don't have a whole lot to talk about these days in seems... Wondering how you much bigger you usually go with snow boots compared to your regular shoes. Most of my shoes are size 12, and I normally buy boots or hiking shoes in 13s for thicker socks and also because I...

    Squatters Rights

Property rights are one of the foundations to a free society. Initially it was "life liberty and property" instead of "life liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Squatters rights goes directly against that, which is why certain groups encourage it.

    Start em young!

That's great. I mentioned in another thread but I think I'm getting a 900 from a relative. It will be mainly for the kids with the eco mode but I could see myself taking it on a saddlebag trip on Ontario or Quebec too to keep the gas costs down. Also, my cheapest sled to own was the one I...

    saddle bag trips?

Last March when we were in NE WI we came across a couple groups that had ridden over from MN. Pretty cool. We thought about heading into MN from there but there was so much snow in NE WI it seems like a waste. Less than 11 months ago, seems crazy how much snow there was.

    Grand Lake Colorado information

Interested to hear reports from the Grand Lake area. We looked into it but ended up going to the Snowies, just because we couldn't find enough info about the area prior to going. Been to the snowies once before and knew what we were getting into, and didnt' want to chance a different area given...

    saddle bag trips?

We normally ride 4 or 5 days and have a general plan or loop in mind. I find it's better to be flexible because of conditions. Lots of times we'll book the hotel for the night when we're heading out for the day or when eating lunch. When we were younger and phones didn't get reception much, we'd...

    Snowies or Grand Lake?

I think we may try out Grand Lake next time we drag the trail sleds out that way. If money wasn't an issue I'd probably fly and rent. But was pleasantly suprised how the trails were at the Snowies, at least off the main paths by the parking area.

    Snowies or Grand Lake?

Just got back yesterday. Rode Thursday - Sunday. Stayed at the old corral. They got around 6" in Centennial the night we arrived so we rode up every day instead of trailering as most everyone else did (which makes sense as it's about 7 miles up which wouldn't be too fun on long track sleds). By...

    It’s not over!

That's funny. I remember having to sign your name to some tracking system so they could contact you in case that restaurant got exposed to the 'vid. I usually signed in as Gretchen Whitmer.

    Snowies or Grand Lake?

We booked at the snowies. Will arrive Wednesday night. Hopefully that gives them time to clean things up after the holiday weekend. We'll split our time on and off trail. With 137s obviously we aren't doing the true mountain riding but we had a good time out there about a decade ago on all 121s.
