Also, how many trees would be needed to block off an area of 30 - 35 feet?

So how many hours a day do they need to be watered? If I plant 3, I assume I can get a water diverter switch with 3 hoses, one for each tree. I do have a water timer. I am going to try and get 8ft or higher trees. So they dont need to grow too much....The goal is maybe 12-18 feet.

How often did you have to water the Black Hill Spruce after they were planted? How tall were they when planted and how tall now? How wide are they now?

Am talking with a landscaper who can do a project next summer, they are recommending 5 staggered Black Hill Spruce...staggered... deer resistant, and thick at the bottom............this is what i could find as sample pics...any input would be appreciated...

What caused the slush? I rode Lake Tomahawk today with no problems at all with slush.

Lake Kawaga is safe to cross as many sleds crossed today. Lake Katherine seems to be closed, did not see any markers on it.

Has anybody had success planting "emerald" green arbor vitae as seen in the pic? I know a deer fence would be needed. Just need 30 feet. They are thin and compact.

My landscaper says he is able to get tall arbor vitaes as well, but the problem there is deer of course. Anybody have good luck with arbor vitaes and a fence in winter? Or deer pellets/sprays....do they work? Or electrical fence in winter?

Come spring i am thinking about planning Norway spruce as a privacy screen between neighbors. Norway spruce is what is recommended from landscapers that I talk to. Does anybody have experience with them? Do deer eat them in winter?
