Wings!!!

Well, with a little help from some great actors and poorly sighted refs, the Sharks escpaed with game 1. I hope things even out on the penalty side and let the game be decided by the players!!

Honestly, the Wings can only blame themselves for the slow start...OUCH...three goals in 79 seconds...that sounds more like something the Wings do to other teams! LOL! Oh well, should be a good game two, I hope! I am looking for some better play out of the boys that's for sure!

Just a quick thought...what the heck happened to the Hawks last night? Apparently, they weren't (or should I say their goalie wasn't) ready to play!!! 5-1...OUCH! But I always say, if you gotta play crappy in the playoffs, get it all out in one game and then let it go...they should be ok and I look for them to even the series out in game two! Hawks fans don't forget...even in the Canucks win game two, it doesn't mean everything! Wings fans know that for certain...remember a few years back when Vancouver played Detroit in the first round...they one games 1 AND 2 in Detroit; BUT, Detroit won the SERIES in 6 games!
It ain't whether you win the first game in a series; its whether you win the LAST! Stay strong Hawks fans!

Lets go Red Wings, clap clap clapclapclap! Game 2 in the Shark tank tonight at 8pm!

Down 2-0 and headin' home!

Wings...my goodness, down 2-0. I think the Sharks should give the third star to the refs...10 power plays...WOW! Oh well, no excuses! Lets see if the Wings can pick it up at home! Gonna be tough, but I am still positive about their chances...I just wish the boys in black and white would let them play for goodness sake...or at least call it both ways cause that was just a bit too obvious in favor of the Sharks.

On the other hand, the Wings need to win a face off every once in a while, holy moly! They did it to themselves in that respect!

It ain't over till one team wins four games so don't count out the Wings just yet!! Howard played a good game, the Sharks just threw a ton of rubber at him...

A little side note...I still remember the good old days when a 5 on 3 power play was very rare, but so far the Sharks have had three in two games. WOW! Like I said though, the Sharks took it to the Wings and scored when they were given the advantage...that is what good teams do. I personally believe that they got lucky and some help in both games, but I also believe that you creat your own luck and the Wings are just gettin' out worked! Although, I do have to say, when you play an entire period worth of time short handed, players are gonna get tired! Time to suck it up boys, the Sharks are for real!

Now...with all that said, it is time to put these two games behind us and go get'em! Forget the bad calls (as pointed out by the versus crew) and go play hockey! Can't do anything about the calls now...bring on game three!!!

Sharks are lucky! Lucky they have Little Joe Pevelski from Wisconsin!! Hes on Fire ! Pavelski scored a pair of power-play goals to extend his goal-scoring streak to five games and set up Ryane Clowe's between-the-legs score to continue a breakthrough postseason for the player no longer known as "Little Joe." Whatever planet he's on, I think everyone wants to get on it with him," Thornton said about Pavelski, the former Wisconsin star in his fourth NHL season. "He's just been so consistent - he's been awesome. He really has been." The Sharks have won five straight games since Dan Boyle's pass deflected off a Colorado stick and into his own net in Game 3 of the first round. That's a sign they might finally be shedding the label of postseason underachievers. To do that, they still need to knock off the Red Wings, who have ruled the Western Conference by going to six of the past 14 Stanley Cup finals.
No other team in the conference has been to the finals more than twice in that span.

Heart or Wallet?? Roc got me a nice Wings?Zetterberg jersey for my birthday!!

Just gotta love seeing these former Badgers doing well. Exspecially Pavelski, he's from central Wisconsin. "GO BUCKY"
Thought the Wings controlled most of that game, just not the final score.
I don't have a favorite NHL team. Just love watching this part of the season.

Don't blame the refs for the redwings taking lazy penalties and not giving the sharks the obligitory phantom make up penalty. This is the playoffs and these are the best refs in the NHL. There is no "conspiracy" to help the sharks move on. Instead of whining about the power play differental, why not ask why detroit has been so undiciplined in the first two games.

Wings!

Well, all penalties and controversy aside...the Wings are just flat out getting out played by the hungry Sharks!

However, it ain't over till they lose four games so don't count them out yet! If ahy team can come back from 3-0 deficit it is the WINGS! But it ain't gonna be easy! They gotta start playin' some better hockey...I just hope that it is not too late! Win or lose the Wings are my team and I will go down rootin' for them!!!

I will say that Howard is looking a bit over matched in the series...although, they wouldn't have made it this far without him!!! One game at a time boys...you can still do this!

Their wasn't a classier guy behind the mike for the past 50 years! Rest in peace Ernie!!

The next game will tell how good the Wings really are!! NOTES: San Jose's Joe Pavelski, the first player since Mario Lemieux in 1992 to score more than once in three straight playoff games, had his five-game goal streak snapped. ...

Not done yet...

Well,

No celebration for the Sharks just yet!! The Mule has SPOKEN!!
What a game for Franzen!

I told you not you not to give up on the Wings just yet. They still have a little but of life left...don't count'em out! It is only one game, but the Sharks had the chance to finish off the Wings and they got thumped! We shall see what happens in game 5!

The only goal for the Sharks comes on yet another 5 on 3...oh well, I wish we could have a game where neither team goes to the box more than a couple times...like the good old days. I will say though...this game got a bit chippy in the end...26 total penalties (WOW!)

Anyway...the Wings still have their backs against the wall but if any team can do it, the Wings can. Keep the momentum and lets go into the Shark tank and take game 5!

See you all on Saturday!

GO WINGS!!!

By the way...go Hawks and go Habs! (Chicago up 2-1 and the Habs even their series with the Pens! That is so cool!)
