HOLY CRAP THE SEASON IS A BUST. Its December people get a hold of your self I mean seriously do u expect Feb ridding through out the whole u,p or something. There is plenty of good riding to be had so what you gotta drive an extra hour deal with it. And as for weather forecasts. John your the best but it's all subject to change no one can really predict mother nature and when or where the snow fall's down to the very last min. Heck 3 years ago we almost cancelled a trip because it was supposed to rain but we didn't and instead,of rain good old Trout lake gave us 13 inches of snow. Weather is an educated guess with no guarantees except frustration . So STAY POSITIVE AND NO MORE CRYING OR COMPLAINING. We all love this sport other wise we wouldn't do what we do year after year........

AND ALWAYS REMEBER NEVER RIDE FASTER THAN YOUR GUARDIAN ANGLE CAN FLY

Keep on them, just getting your sled is not enough. They can do more.
I had a major issue with BRP in 2009. After getting nowhere with the dealer(s), I had to do the multiple calls a day to BRP stressing my points of 3 blown motors in 100 miles was beyond unacceptable. They ended up giving me an extended warranty and a $1000 ski-doo credit. Way more than I expected, I just wanted a new crate motor. I did stress the lost trips and money I was out because of it.

Obviously had a leak somewhere. Leak down test would have solved that. Engines dont go that many times in short period unless a major problem exists. Whoever put those engines together did a hack job and never did their due diligence. SMH.

It really is a blessing for some that 4 strokes exist

I wish it would have been that simple. Twice I was blamed for a cold seize and told they shouldn't warrantee it. Turned out I had three sets of out of round cylinders. Only I could get three sets in a row.

I'm still heading up to the UP tomorrow morning. I'm not scared of a little warm weather and if it stays somewhat cloudy both Friday and Saturday I bet riding will be great. I will take some pictures of trail condition as we make our way to Copper Harbor. The only time I'm a little worried will be early afternoon on Saturday, I think Friday will be great. I remember last year which I consider a great winter, we did not have rideable snow until x-mass or shortly after in my area. Relax and have faith!

Calm down folks, winter doesn't actually start until December 21st. In all actuality, the early snows have just given some a false sense of when one can ordinarily begin the season. Sure the trails officially open on Dec 1st, but, the good riding really doesn't begin until after Christmas anyway, patience snow hoppers, Meester Bleezard's got something for ya! Just Wait...-Mezz

Wife and I are coming up also. We'll take in Kips open house, try to ride a bit on Saturday, and if Sunday is a bust, we'll go over to Baraga to play a few slots or just hang out and talk smart at BBB with Lenny and the boys! Either way we will enjoy ourselves!

I head up the 17th. Hopefully we will ride, but if not, it will still be a great time with family. I can at least X-county ski.
In years past, we have gone and hung out in town because it is raining only to wake up to a fresh 6 inches the next morning.

I understand things can change quickly but it sure looks like we are with this weather pattern for having any hope of riding right after Christmas.
In northern WI.

There is snow out there...it's just thin in spots, and we had some hunting here in north central wisconsin....do what you have to do...I understand it...it sucks to drive miles to ride in marginal conditions.....BEEN THERE>>>DONE THAT...moved up north for that very reason.... I no longer own a trailer as I can ride right out my back door (the only thing that sucks is when my CAT blows up...lol...that is my only need for a trailer), and only once in the last 10 years have I not been able to ride between XMAS and new years...for all of you down south getting angry about our snow conditions...I don't know what to say...other than .....I live here and ride here, and maybe you should too john moved up to the Yoop...for the same reason, I and many other sledders moved to northern Wisconsin, and the YOOP...to ride our sleds.... (so badly want to say something smart assed to you crabby "non snowbelt " people)....lol

If there were as many good jobs up there id be there in a second

and that's the trade off....not many good jobs here.....you won't get rich, and you will work your *** off...but...u also won't be locking your doors...you will know that your kids go to a good-safe school...and you will meet a lot of good people...money isn't everything...and snowmobiling isn't the most important thing in life...but sure is fun, and can make life more enjoyable if you can do the things you like (fishing, camping, hunting, snowmobiling, swimming..etc)
I did what I had to do...I was meant to be up here....keep in mind if you are married...the northwoods might not be good for your marriage (depending on the type of girl you are married to)....I moved my first wife to the YOOP...to South Range....needless to say...after 300 inches of snow that winter...she was not impressed, and we soon there after divorced...lol....if you have an outdoorsy girl, who ride, or fishes, or hunts...your life will be very good up here...a shopping, fancy car...need to shop girl... will be miserable up here

Yep some nice peeps here but women are cornfed & men unshaven. lol.. Also colder than a witch's toe up here year round 70s & sunny bikni weather & need to make the most of it. We're originally from suburban Milwaukee and I love it up here and wouldn't trade it for all the money in China. My wife on the otherhand.....well she tolerates it as she knows it's safe and the schools are great for our kids. She likes the outdoors but not nearly as much as I'd like her too!

Yeah that sucks to have no snow when it's time to have snow, would drive me crazy in Northern Illinois when I could barely ride some years. 98 El Nino season was the worst, could only ride the lakes about 3 weeks. Thats why i just went for it and moved to Ironwood almost 5 years ago. My wife loves the UP except when winter goes on too long into spring.......Possible new casino, convention center and hotel to come in the nearby town of Wakefield at Indianhead Mountain, hope so would mean lots of jobs before its opening and during. County voted today to approve it. Passed 5 to 1 vote....PS sorry getting off track.

My wife and I and our three kids moved up a little over 4 years ago from S.E Wis. People thought we're crazy when we first moved.Sometimes I did question our choice to move but now I have no second thoughts on the choice we made.We moved up here because my love for the snow but now spending a few years here I'm leaning towards the summer as being my favorite time a year up here. But don't get me wrong I still love winter.
