so my sled was running fine but little rich so i put smaller jets in after this the sled would bog out when i gave it gas. it would run then u let off gas then it bogs like its not getting gas. thought the gas line was pinched but it was not, all of the hoses from carbs to airbox are hookd up. i was thinking fuel pump or filter?? but it was just running fine 20 mins before. thats why im kinda stumped.

or u could try putting back the old jets running it see how it runs then lean out your needle jet 1 clip or shim it 1/2 a clip and check that out

i had 500s in and put in 480s after i did this it was running like this boggy and wanted to die. i took the 2 plugs out of the case some gas came out, going to wait till morning to mess with it. i have my needle in the middle clip with a shim.

Had a feeling gas would come out! Hopefully she runs like a charm now...

Going down two sizes is quite a jump. What were you seeing that made you do this? Why not try 490's? As motor_slut said, make sure your not dealing with N series jets, they are different and if you don't know the difference, you can have problems. I also say to put the old ones in and try. Then take baby steps to dial it in. Sounds like a lean bog.

well i was told to run 470s. i have a stcok pipe, aaen can, ported cyls and a air horn. so i figured the 500s i had in was real fatt so i put the 480s in. when i had the 500s in it just seemd as it was getting way to much fuel. so i put the 480s in then i got this problem.

I would go back to the 500's and run it, do a plug check and piston wash check. You have a can and an air horn, which already let it breath better. Start rich and go down from there. It still sounds like a lean bog to me.

I make no claim to being an expert, but I've been playing with those 800's for some time. Unless you have some serious portwork (case porting AND cylinder porting) I highly doubt you have a lean bog with 500's, or 480's for that matter. That sled is 450 stock and I've often found they like 430's with mild mods. Just be careful with plug checks. Something happened in your jet change, not the sizing. Stuck float(s), small debris in a pilot, something like that. Good luck.

Deft. It not lean I'm going to take it apart and check the carbs maybe lean the. Needle out a clip setting. Thanks for the input. And the cyls are just slightly ported. Nothing crazy. Let's hope I figure this out so I. Can run a few miles on the few inches I have. B4 my trip

You didn't happen to forget to tighten the clip holding down one or both of the needles? This will make it flood when you give it some gas and bog real bad when the needle gets pushed up out of position.
