I'm not one to share much of my family / personal life on forums, but this was a "first" for us today. Our 5 year old just started Kindergarten last Tuesday, and didn't even make it a week before getting the call at work that no one wants. "Emergency at school", come pick up your child. School nurse did not know the extent of the injury, but thought he busted his arm. I could hear him screaming for us in the background, but my wife and I were 40 and 60 minutes away from there. My wife made it to the school first, loaded him up and headed to ER. I exited a client meeting, ran home and grabbed a special request from him........ (A blanket he hadn't used for over a year) Talking to the wife on my way down, I could here him in agonizing pain in the background while she drove to the nearest ER. Finally got there myself, and was escorted back. They had actually sent him into a Trauma room, as he was in so much pain, they couldn't pinpoint the issue. After 5 or 10 minutes of watching the 5 nurses and doctors work to try and comfort him, calm him down, get and IV in him, send him to xray, and get the juices flowing...................., the picture below was the next result. Morphine Rocks!! (Sorry for the anticlamatic ending, but I had to laugh at the pic when my wife shared it!) Final result ended up being two fractures in the wrist and one in the elbow. He'll be in a full arm cast (from wrist to just above the elbow for 6 weeks!)........... At least hockey doesn't start till November, and it will be even longer before snow flies, so he's looking forward to both when it arrives!!
