Arrived in Presque Isle yesterday at 4 pm to -10. Awoke to - 25 degrees this morning, and a frozen cold water supply pipe in my basement on a north exterior wall. Hoping it's just frozen and did not split the copper. This sucks.

looking at the long term forecast we'll be wishing for this cold weather.
Yep, anything not in the far northwoods is going to get above freezing a few days next week, and the northwoods hovering around freezing. You know what that means on the trails… a sloppy mess!

Hopefully heavier snow which will be better than what we have gotten lately.

My brother has one and you're right, they're a lot of work. Cutting, splitting, and hauling wood is no picnic. But, you can't beat the energy cost and if you have a wood lot it's a good way to manage the dead stuff and encourage new growth.
I have 10 acres of wood and plenty of downfall. But then he decided too much work dragging out of woods so had logger deliver semi loads. That’s costly and you still have to cut split and stack
