I think it's time for all Packer, Jets and Viking fans to have a big group hug.
We've all been Favre-swaggled.

Their, now doesn't that feel better?

Only 6 months to training camp. Better luck next year.

Lets face it this Favre thing was bound to go one of two ways:
1. The Vikings make it to the super bowl and win which obviously did not happen. If that were the case Brett would have been the hero and the savior he so desperately needs to be.
2. The Vikings do not go the distance and people realize that Brett should have stayed retired. Lets face it if the entire season were games like they played against the saints where pressure got to the qb Favre would likely be hurt.

Bottom line is Favre is one of the greatest that ever played, he should have stayed retired with the dignity and respect of the fans. Honestly this will he come back or wont he every year is a joke, its not love of the game it is love of the spot light in the media. On the good side now the Vikings fans can wonder if they will have a quarterback next season, Green Bay already has one and a damn good one at that.

Not sure what game some of you Sconny fans were watching, but I'm pretty sure #4's int wasn't what lost that game for us. Bigger issue was AP's hands before the half, and that 12 man "in the huddle" penalty. That drive right there should have been the ticket to the big dance, assuming Longwell would have made it.

May not have made the big one this year, but he sure got the best of your Greenbay Peckerheads. You'll be hearing that from your friendly MN neighbors for years to come.

doospunk who cares? your season was as much a success as ours. they don't hand out trophies in the regualar season. you guys choked once again. first jim marshall, then 41-0 (when you were favored i mite add.) then gary "i never missed a field goal this year" ugghh!, now favre. you guys are still "0-forever in championships".

switch 07 summed it up perfectly. if favre would of been playing for the jets, dolphins, bengals, whoever i probably would of rooted for him. but playing with our hated rivals the vikes, or if he would of went to the bears, thats crossing the line. despite what he says about not playing in spite i think is b.s. he wanted to stick it to the packers and packer fans no matter what he says and it looks like he's the one that ends up with egg on his face.

Turned on him? Give me a break. He turned on us Packer fans as soon as he was able to. How would you feel if Fran came to play with the Pack, your arch rivals. You would not want him to win a Super Bowl with us, just as we don't want to see it with your team. He gave us many great years yes, but also the same heart ache you are feeling right now. He is tough as nails we all agree, but with that he makes some boneheaded plays. He did help us win one of our three Lombardi trophies and we will always be thankfull for that. He also chose to play for our arch rival and to most Packer fans that crossed the line as far as cheering for him anymore. I would think most Packer fans did not want to see him get hurt, but they sure did not want him to win, why.....because it was the Vikings, not just Brett Favre playing. As far as how far the Packers went this year, it doesn't matter, if you don't win the big dance, finishing second is only the first loser. Nobody remembers unless you win it all and can show off the trophy.....somthing we do very proudly I must say. GO PACK

I am so sick of people saying he turned on the fans. BS, he turned on the management of the Packers. Did YOU tell him he couldn't play for the Pack anymore? Did ANY Packer fan tell him he couldn't play for the Packers anymore? NO!

Yes, we did enjoy 17 years with Brett Favre at the helm. During that time frame, how many of the Vikings fans here were bitching and cutting him down as a washed up hillbilly, etc? Plenty is the answer! So, now the Queens have an old man Favre for one season. Yes, your team beat our team twice. Give Favre and the Vikes credit for that. But don't come here and pretend that he is the answer to all the issues, or that you have always loved him. How about the banner across the highway that read, "Go Home Cheeseheads" or whatever it was. This is a great rivalry, but it's amazing how the Vikings have old, well used players from the Holy Land trying to get them to the big dance. You can have Favre! He's going to retire and we will still have Mr. Rodgers. We WILL win the NFC North in 2010!
Enjoy the off season.

Hmmm, the Packers are a publicly owned team, owned by Packers fans, IMO he turned on all of us. Maybe more towards TT and MM, but the fans were caught in the middle and our feelings were not taken into consideration when Brett and "Chilly" made their little pact. We were loyal to him and got nothing in return. I hope he finally retires and we get some snow to go ride. We are beating a dead horse again...................

Sure they are, owned by shareholders, is every Packer fan a shareholder? Heck no! The shareholders have no say in who goes, and who stays anyways. Management does. Favre didn't leave the Pack to go to the Vikes, he left the Pack, and went to the Jets, then he went to the Vikes. Favre did not do ANYTHING to the fans, you just feel that way, are you going to tell me he woke up one morning and said, " I hate the Green Bay fans, think I will see about playing for the Vikes this year." NO, he wanted to stick it to TT and MM, and he did.

I am a Packer fan, and a huge Favre fan, I will pull for him no matter who he plays for (unless he is playing against the Pack :) ). Don't be pissed at Favre, be pissed at TT and MM, THEY made the descision not to bring Favre back. Favre wanted to come back to the glorious fans of Green Bay, he was not allowed too. Plain and simple.

all you yahoos trying to say the game was lost because of 4 are out of your minds. he was the best guy out there played when he could hardly walk still dove for balls that butter fingers dropped not 4 fault at all. coach putting extra guys in the huddle and 3 bad fumbles not 4 fault.1 bad forced pass because of all the previous fmucked up plays buy the rest of the team and coaching staff.I would like to see any of you even walk across the bar after taking a helmet of a 250 lb guy to the shin at the same time a 300 lb guy takes you out from the other direction at the wast.if you think you are man enough to try that one and still go on getting your *** kicked I am sure I could arrange for you to give it a shot

Skylar and everybody else still blaming Packer management, I have some points for you and you have the right to your opinion. In talking with people around the state, it is kind of a wash on who was wronged here; Favre or Management. Up here in the GB area it is very, very one sided for managment, not Favre.

Point: He retired and said I can't do it any more. sniff sniff
Point: The Packers asked him back and he turned them down.
Point: The Packers make the chose to move ahead.
Point: Brett waits till training camp to declaire he is ready to go, knowing full wear the Packers have moved on.
Point: Brett flys to GB during Family Night to force the Packers hand. He, Ted and Mike meet, but he won't get on the same page that they are.
Point: He requests his release, which would be a dumb business move by the Packers. So they trade him to the Jets for what they can get.
It was pretty obvious he was in contact with the Vikes this whole time.
Point: His family was making hotel reservations in GB even before he was released by the Jets.

I'm not a hater, but the whole thing stunk from the start.

Only 6 months to training camp. "GO PACK GO"

Ezra,

I have never questioned Favre's toughness, there is no one tougher IMO. There were many mistakes in the game and it just happens the last one was made by Favre. That is the one that people will remember. Just works that way in sports some time........Skylar, I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one..........the dead horse is now glue....think snow!

Your right, your right, the Vikings just plain suck, front to back, top to bottom, not 4 fault, got lucky all season. Next year we'll get them.
