Broken wrist??

so I took my dog jogging with me the other night and somehow we got tangled up and down I went--pow broken wrist!!

so what im wondering is--down time?do any of you know the healing time?doc says 4 to 6 weeks

is that going to be it or is there more time needed for healing after that?

Thottle wrist or other one? Never broke mine but severly sprained it a few years back and took all of that to feel good. (I believe if it was broke it would have healed faster) Just take it easy on it and buy a brace from wally world. And oh yea shot that dog snow is commin...

Depends on what bone broke. A few years ago I broke mine in a car accident and it was my scaffoid (spelling) bone. Tried to heal it on its own but hard bone to heal and so I had to have a screw put it in. Accident was in Aug. and lucky it healed come middle of Jan. I was given the ok to ride. First time out I hit a bump and wow did I feel it in the wrist. Lucky again no damage done. They say scaffoid bone is a hard one to heal. Your Dr. should know. Be careful and take care of it and hopefully your Dr. is right and you shold be good to go.

-milk, tums anyhting with calcium in it to
fill the crack's so it will heal quicker..

its my right hand doc says its the most common bone to break in the V between thumb and finger..

already had to bow out of dec trip to Tog so im hoping to be ready by jan1st

here is the culprit!!I cant shoot him..LOL mad at him but he still my little buddy..he just knew i was getting ready for long winter away from him..

U should only have the cast on for 3-4 weeks. 100% by 4-6 weeks at most. I've had 12 broken bones over the years and the wrists heal pretty quick. I road once with a case one the left hand most of the season. I had the doc put on the case so the hand curved to the handle bars. I know it was nuts but it worked and I was still able to ride.

thanks I needed some good news!!3-4 weeks is ok I needed a break from work anyhoo...DOH..

thanks I have always been one to mend fast too!!

just not 12 broken bones..LOL

I take to many chances......

I can also tell you that the Milk commercials’ stating Milk builds strong bones is a crock! LOL

Slick move Pat, but I thought I heard you broke it when falling off your sled in the garage while dream riding! lol.

To bad it won't be healed in time for the trip. We'll take plenty of pics for ya!

I would ask for a cast with my hand around a pipe so I could slide it over the bar switch break and throttle to good hand side

does anyone know how it works for leave of absence from job??4weeks?MN?after 10 years back at company they don't seem to be friendly about this??

Rusty, you are not going to leave me to all that Tog. happy hr. alone now are you? I have been known to become dangerous there when left alone. lol. Can't the ole work place give you a desk job for awhile. I will be back out there again 2nd week of Jan. we can ride then too! Heal up.

I broke mine a few years back but it bent under until my fingers touched the underside of my forearm. I was in 3 different casts for a total of just over 3 months. I was able to modify my third cast enough to ride dirt bike, but snowmobiling was done early that year for me. Still isnot right to this day.

looks like the rest the group will be out!!just short 1 rider..LOL--ouch..

no desk jobs-I wish--Times are hitting us right now-BAD--so they brought a guy back who was laid off and now I'm just wondering what my future will bring.17 years with them...was there 7 then gone 2 and back now for 10..

oh i will be up and running jan1st!! I HOPE
