Let's get it going.....

I want to thank all who made it to Hay Days. Good event and good weather. For those who did not attend, the preseason rate package will be out on Oct. 2nd. There will be a media blitz to make sure you all see it. And go to the Togwotee web page and click on receiving notices.

All I can say for now is the almanac says a banner snow year again. On a personal note, I'm not ready yet to do a snow dance, but things could change in a well you know.

The first 2 weeks in Dec. can be a great time to come out. You gotta know a few things. It can be deep and bottomless and it can be rocks. Usually the second week is good as bottomless. Now what do I mean by bottomless.........powder to the dirt.......the snow hasn't had time to set up. Lots of things to hit under there and you have to be careful. Incredible powder to ride but not helter skelter. Got to pay attention that time of year, but the rewards are awesome. Wyoming champaygne powder.........also Ive seen so much snow the first week its sick. Just got to watch the weather forecasts. This year again I'll try to keep up with weather postings...

We are planning a trip to Tog in Feb. At this point we are thinking on flying into Salt Lake City Friday night and then driving up. We will be renting sleds and would like to ride on Saturday. What time would we need to be at TML in the morning on Sat. if we were to ride with a guide?

Thanks
Kevin

The guides normally leave the lodge at Togwotee at 9am.
I was told that Togwotee will announce early season packages on October 2.

Rates for the classic package will be plastered all over Media on Oct. 2. Go to the Togwotee web site and sign up for e-mail news. Or go there Oct 2 and it will guide you.

Bigprody, you have lots to think about. Got to be in the system for a few of these things to happen. Call Aramark central reservations, book your ride, be at the lodge rental shop around 8 am.......name is posted on the board with the guide you will ride with depending on your ability level. Then the guide takes over with making sure you have all the necessary gear and safety speeches, then you cross the road for an amazing day. See you there....

Yep.........the fall teaser thing going on........a little snow, then high 60's and melt it off. The good thing is it is freezing at nite and that is good for the dirt and holding snow when it hits. Not long now.

End of Feb,Early March

Hey Carter do you know if there is a big group or event coming in the first week in March? We have reservations for Feb 27-March 5th and some in our group who rent sleds have found that all the 800cc sleds are already booked. Just found it odd, we have never had an issue getting sleds when booking in Oct.

At this time I don't know the answer. The lodge is on off season hours and I can't get hold of anyone today. I'll try Monday and let you know.

Thanks for looking into it. It could also just be something with the Aramark reservation center as well, after calling three different times over a period of a couple days he finally ended up with a couple 800cc sleds.

First weekend of March will be Dobson and possibly the John Dee group. Carter always has a big group that week also. We have ridden the first week of March at Togwotee for 10 years and it is always booked full! I have reports from some friends from Iceland that we rode with out there that are experiencing the same issue regarding renting the sleds this year.

Getting over my funk.......warm weather in the fall but not quite warm enough to ride the Harley so all I do is work. Well, looking at the national forcast I see a pocket on the side of the big freeze that says 8 to 10 just like Mn. That gives me inspiration. Along with 4 of 5 days snow in Jackson next week we have a beginning. Stay tuned, I know you are watching.....
