Citgo Sea and Snow

Just to stir the pot a little more on this tired out subject; has anyone noticed that the plastic jugs that the Sea and Snow uses also happen to be the same as the one that Arctic Cat switched to this year? Could they be packaged by the same company? ;)

Mystic 100% Synthetic by Citgo just happens to be purple too!

I noticed already a year or so ago that the Yamalube 2-S stuff was in the same bottle, not sure if it is from the same well, but one of them things that makes you go hmm...

Synthetic vs. synthetic blend

Not trying to start (or continue) an oil war here, as I know the subject has been beaten to death. My question is simply this: Am I asking for trouble switching to a synthetic blend oil after having used full synthetic for the life of the sled (05 GSX 600 SDI, 7600 trouble-free miles, good compression, fully stock except for Boyesen Rage Cages)?

I know the owner's manual calls for at least synthetic blend. I ran XPS full synthetic until last year, with no negative results. I switched to Amsoil simply because it was a little less expensive than OEM and a little easier to get. No negative results with that, either. Now that I've found somewhere locally that I can get Sea & Snow, I'm thinking of going that route since it's about 1/2 the cost of Amsoil. While the cost savings is attractive, I'm not willing to change at the expense of problems. Thoughts, please?

Skylar is correct...Yamalube and Sea/Snow are made by the exact same company....same product....been tested...use Sea/Snow

I've run Citco S&S for 2 seasons now & have had no problems at all. Some of my buddys have used it for many years & no trouble. I like the price!!!

I used it in my 04 GSX 500ss for 2 seasons, with no problems. It made senceto me, not only
was it a lot less money, but when I needed it I have a Farm and Fleet in town, The nearest
Ski Doo dealer is an hour away. Since switching sleds to 07 Renegade X SDI I have only used the semi syn Ski Doo oil , was at a show and bought a case. Not sure why, I guess
I have been brainwashed to think you should olny use Ski Doo oil in the new sled.

for cryeye,ENOUGH already.
$10,500 snowmobile
$5,000 trailer
$1,200 gear
$1,000 accesories
$25,000 truck
$2,000 vacation money

......save $50.00 a year by switching oil brands......

I run Amsoil because it's my prefered brand of oil for over 20 years. not one oil related failure. I'm a satisfied customer. I dont care what it costs. I dont care if another brand is cheaper. I like what I like. and I support Amsoil's snowmobile racing sponsorship because I feel it helps promote this sport I love.

and just to give everyone something else to gripe about I COULD drive a Dodge truck and ride Ski Doo snowmobiles..........but I choose NOT too!

I always notice Polarisrider1 "best" posts come in between midnight and 3 am. :)

Hey Indy, do you drive a $25,000 dollar truck, own a $5,000 trailer, ride a $10,500 snowmobile, have $1200 in gear, $1,000 in accessories, and have $2,000 in vacation money? Didn't think so.
