Is this a really bad oil to use . Can you mix it with old oil or let it get low. Why do people put this oil down . Whats wrong with it . I am using it in a skidoo 550 fan cooled . Skidoo oil cost alot . Could someone let me know .

guy in the pic ^above^ is running it in an 08 ski-doo. i didn't have good luck with it but a lot of people run it and have good luck.

you might have problems you might not. it's a matter of what you're comfortable with. if you believe that you should run oil that costs $30 and you trust, then run it, if you think $12 a gallon oil is good oil which a lot of people do then run it. if you don't trust it though then dont' run it. it's a matter of what YOU think not me or others. this is a lot like the gas theory. some think you should run higher octane gas because of less ethanol some think you don't need to. it's a lot like brand bashing...

citgo sea and snow oil

Why do so many people put this oil down ? I just called the company and asked about there product and they said it is alright to use in snowmobiles . Mixing is alright also , you should not blame the oil if your motor blew up . That sounds like maintenence problems to me . So is this a good oil or not . Did you mix it or wait until oil tank was low ? How many miles have you put on with this oil.

just figured i'd let you all know, my crank bearing went shot and scratched cylinders. pistons r in below average shape but no hole. so shortly after switching to sea and snow the crank bearing went out

I would tend to think it was a coincedence that you switched brands of oil and the bearing failed.

So indy_500, what oil are you going to run now ?

Just to stir the pot a little more on this tired out subject; has anyone noticed that the plastic jugs that the Sea and Snow uses also happen to be the same as the one that Arctic Cat switched to this year? Could they be packaged by the same company? ;)

CITGO has been under contract with Arctic Cat for a long time to manufacture their oil for them. I have recently heard that Yamaha does also.

well i 3/3 sleds r done. 2 700's with holes in the heat exchangers from studs and a 500 with a blown motor. i guess my oil situation ain't that big a deal right now

It has been a while since this topic was brought up, but after using up the original fill of oil in my sled, I switched to Arctic Blue synthetic blend (Citgo was my second choice) and have to say that when I pulled out the exhaust valves out of the engine, they looked much better(cleaner, less build-up) than the valves out of my previous sleds which I had ran (Amsoil Inteceptor)full-synthetic oils.

I have dealt with Kamp Oil in Grand Rapids several times, they are great to do business with and the price is right. :)
