Snowbuilder i have plenty of packer friends that realize they will never have a chance to win SBs like the chances they have now and in the next few years. To not win again would be disappointing, i think i speak for all packer fans. This has nothing to do with the bears, i kno they suck. Last year was very disapointing year as had higher hopes. You can mock the bears all you want..really doesnt bother me haha...they have hit rock bottom and will start only getting better.

Lions have lots of new talent but old talent left for big money. They are on the verge of getting it all together on D & O and go on a roll. No shame in losing to the hawks in a very close game complicated by a blown penalty call. Lions will be ok about to win a few....probably blow someone out when they get on a roll & will beat Bears 2x.

There have been many times when they've had enough talent to at least be decent.....but somehow, some way over the years a culture of mediocrity has developed, grown, and become ingrained and accepted. They've had many high draft picks over the years; few have panned out. If they win a few this year they'll be doing good; with their anemic offense I don't see them blowing anybody out.

Sorry buildy, but its reality. maybe your good with second, third or 4th best. but all pack fans i know feel like its super bowl or bust. A division win and playoff loss would be disapointing to them.

I think any time you don't make the SB with the talent GB has, and the winning tradition (forgetting about the 70s-80s) in GB, it's a disappointment. And winning the SB is why the game is played.

But making the playoffs year in and year out is a heck of a lot better than being the Raiders, or Bucaneers, or the Lions, etc.

I'm of the opinion that Ted Thompson is one of the greatest GMs there is.

I'm also of the opinion that Mike McCarthy is a good coach, but not an elite coach.

I agree....making the playoffs consistanty is the goal of every franchise.

Mccarthey talked the franchise into moving on from favre and that rodgers was the real deal. Many of the respected guys i listen too think he is a top 5 coach.

Top 5 offensive coordinator, sure.

Top 5 head coach? Maybe of the head coaches that currently have head coaching jobs. But who is that comparing him to? Slim pickins after Bellichick.

Right now tuff to say pete carrol isnt up there. Players love to play for him and the guy has developed low end draft pics and undrafted guys to be stars. Like him or not. They have the most undrafted players on roster of every team.
I love mike tomlin and john harbough those guys are top tier winners.

Then id say bruce arians. Guy has done a lot of winning. Pitt o coord then coach of year in indy, now winning with AZ. And to think the bears had him and offered the job to trestman instead. SMH.

I think Mccarthy is right there. He may have made some bad calls that cost them but he has made way more good ones than bad. I think he realized he needed to hand down the play calling a focus on being a HC for betterment of the team.

Andy reid is solid, chip kelly innovative

And maybe handing over play calling will be what is needed for him to become an elite head coach.

It's clear his focus has been offensive, and not defense or special teams. The offense is good enough that they don't need him running the show.
Defense and special teams has needed help since 2010. And while it's still early, defense has looked much better. Stopping most everyone but Forte. Special teams might be improving slowly. Punter still stinks.

After all is said and done, maybe this is what was needed to push the Packers over the top. McCarthy certainly thought something needed changing. We will see.

P.s. Innovative and sucess don't always go hand in hand. Chip Kelly better get the ship righted in Philly soon. His GM abilities are looking horrendous early into this season.

I think it will be beneficial to the team that he over sees the play calling vs making the calls and not focusing enough time in all phases. Rogers pretty much knows what will be called before it's called or even its him making the call anyway. The packers are pretty much a lock barring injury to play in NFC title game. That is where mccarthey will need to out game plan others. Then if the matchup that seems most likely right now happens in pats vs packers, mccarthey will be up for his biggest coaching challenge of his life. We will see.

I agree chip kelly is innovative and has been successful but as of now his moves are back firing

A little early to be predicting NFC championship teams. We are only 4 games in. Lots can happen on any given Sunday let alone 12 of them. For instance without Lacy Rodgers will get blitzed relentlessly by everybody. The hits and sacks will pile up and he will end up getting nicked. Like last year. Anything can happen. And the Bengals will win it all.

Yes i agree it is. thats why i mentioned baring injury tho. Lacy wouldnt be as big of loss as center or left tackle, IMO. Blitz rodgers? you do know what happens to D's that consistantly blitz rodgers....play with fire...you get burned...

But yea injuries happen....just more unlikely than likely...NFL does its best to protect its stars

Benglas win it all? now that would be something...they have the roster to do it....just dont trust dalton in crunch time

Blitzing Rodgers will not necessarily win games but it will result in a little more abuse. As good as Rodgers is he can still get hurt. The Pack do not have the best O line as it is. But I won't wish injury on him. As has been said the window for championships is a small one. Just read a blurb that predicts the Falcons will be 9-0. At that point home field will start getting talked about. The Pack has a huge home field advantage in January. If they lost that it could be a factor. But then again it is too early to talk about playoffs. But just think of it - Bengals vs Falcons in the Superbowl. Any yes - Dalton would screw it up.

Bengals are a heck of a team and will be in the playoffs ...Dalton's time to shine.

Dalton in 4 playoff games, all 4 losses, 6 pics, 1 TD. 55% completion, 50 Qb rating. Something changes for him when the lights are bright. They may get outa 1st round, but if they have to play a team like pats....good luck to the red rocket.

Dalton playing much better maybe he will settle down in playoffs since been there before. Will see he how does plenty of season left.

Kinda like sayin maybe cutler will stop throwing pics. Kinda just part of who they are. Dalton has always played pretty well in reg season...but playoffs. Poor. It would make sense if this was his second trip to playoffs. But He laid 4 eggs in a row, my money would be on 5 eggs. Their team is so good tho i think they will get out of first round by running the ball and playin D and not letting dalton lose it. Come round 2 or AFC title game when he has to perform...just dont see him leading a crucial drive
