Bears fans/pro-analysts love their losing teams.....Bears under Fox don't suck too bad. Keep Jay...it will work...really.
Ever think how top tier teams keep winning without a top draft choice?....WHAT?

yes it is very simple...they all have 1 common denominator. A top tier QB. Combine it with great coaching like Pats and bingo you run the NFL for 15+ years.

Ted thompson is a well regarded GM but IMO rodgers makes everyone in that franchise look better than they really are, and to be honest if they dont win some super bowls in the near future, i would consider big teds time a failure. rodgers is once in a generation player, only 1 SB from him would be a tuff pill to swallow. Subtract rodgers from that squad and its really not that impressive...hence the losing streak they went on without him. They are full of home grown players which is cost effective, but i think one day rodgers may realize he will need to take a pay cut like brady and manning if he wants to win it all repeatedly. You can sleep on stacks of cash or go down as the greatest ever......

First you have to become top tier team with an elite QB then maintain a competitive roster....Da Bears a long way from top tier team so need to draft & trade to get better. Cutler has to go really not a good leader and players don't respond to him...yes he is talented but not the Bear QB answer.
Chicago wanted to love Jay Cutler but he broke so many hearts with back breaking picks & poor attitude over so many years the fans sit on their hands waiting for the next boot to fall a fumble or pick. QB change is needed to leave the Cutler heartbreak behind which would be good for Cutler ,the fans & the team.

Look at the bright side.....at least you're not stuck with the Lions. :) 58 years of rebuilding, and counting.

Bad call on batting ball out of end zone Lions should have had ball on the 1. Officals say they blew it but still a L for Lions. Lions not bad team and will have a winning run sometime this season.

I have to disagree with the Ted failure part. A disappointment, yes. Failure? No way.
You cannot win the super bowl if you don't make the playoffs. You can put all the pieces in place, but at some point, the playoffs, the players and coaches have to get it done.

The packers make the playoffs almost every year. Most teams that have playoff runs make those runs for a few years and then they get old. Ted makes sure that he replaces the old talent with new talent as good or better than the old was. Not to many GMs do this. They pay stupid money to the old guys, just like the Bears did, and the raiders are probably the worst at it.

Yeah I agree, with one of the best QB to play the game, the packers should have another SB win by now. But, how many SB wins does Marino have?

Yes disappointment is a better word..

While they have as good as shot as any to win it this year, if they dont..time is starting to run out. Rodgers is at the absolute pinnacle of his career. I dont see how he cant do anything but start to regress in the next few years.

Marino was great but will never enter the greatest talk as he just didnt get it done, maybe unfair...but its reality.

only an arrogant bears fan could look at the packers org as a failure after they have dominated your bears as well as the nfc north div for 3 decades.

your explanations as to how to put together a winning program reminds me of steve martins explanation of how to be a millionaire.....LOL

it's real obvious that if rogers had 2 sb wins you'd say he failed because he didn't have 3....if he had 3 you'd say 4....LMAO....life is great as a Packer fan!

disappointment is a relative thing. Some folks were "dissappointed when favre left and blamed thompson....I wasn't....and no one with a brain is dissappointed today.

bears fans sound like the guy driving an '86 town and country saying he is dissappointed in the 2016 vettes because a car mag called the ferrari a step above....LMAO!

I don't anticipate Rodgers regress anytime soon.
He's 30 years old.
He keeps himself in tip top condition.
No one is more driven or dedicated to his craft then him.
Look at what Brady has done the last two years and he's now 38.
The advantage Rodgers has over a lot of talented QB's is the dude is very smart. Like Ivy league school smart. So when his natural talent starts to erode he will have his smarts to fall back on. Peyton isn't still playing because of his arm that's for sure.

Rodgers could still be the best QB in the league for the next 6-8 years.
Easily.

Rodgers with 2 SB wins is in the convo as greatest ever.

Rodgers with 3 SB wins and his stats, will without doubt be the greatest ever.

I agree. His talent has always been there. His football smarts just keeps getting better. And IMO, he is in the top two right now at the QB position at football IQ. Coin flip.

He probably will be great for at least the next 3-4 years. My gut feeling tho is if he is 35 and wins a SB he will retire on top vs playing until he is crippled

He is smart, but he is also much much more gifted than brady and peyton. They had to outsmart everyone and always play from the pocket ONLY. it will be interesting to see how rodgers will perform when his body starts to break down and his arm strength erodes....especially on the run. No one has ever thrown the ball on the run like him.

Not sure he is as commited to the game as brady or peyton....they live for football, but neither of us truly know that answer. I dont see rodgers playing until he cant like peyton is....but we will see.

as i mentioned disapointment is a better word. When you come across a transcendant talent like aaron rodgers, and dont win multiple super bowls, how can you not feel disapointment.

similiar to lebron.....being a cleveland fan how could you not be disapointed in last years finish...when you have the best player...and lose...has nothing to do with the bears SMH.

are you bitter and bent?

Bad call, yes. Absolutely wrong call. But the Lions had multiple chances before that and didn't capitalize -- either because of the Seahawks' defense or their own typical stupid undisciplined penalties. Bottom line is, if Johnson holds onto the ball he doesn't put the officiating in a position to determine the outcome. Even if he scored, though, nothing says Seattle can't score on their ensuing possession.

I'm not sure how you can say the Lions aren't a bad team, but I admire your optimism. :) Glad I'm not a fan -- never have been and never will until the Fords do the right thing and sell to somebody who cares.

Lions have lots of new talent but old talent left for big money. They are on the verge of getting it all together on D & O and go on a roll. No shame in losing to the hawks in a very close game complicated by a blown penalty call. Lions will be ok about to win a few....probably blow someone out when they get on a roll & will beat Bears 2x.

Last mock draft i seen had lions picking #1. playing AZ..next week....they are on verge of 0-5. Bears will likely be a favorite at home and a dog at their place.

Lions picking #1??
The Lions will win 5 games at least.

What did they have the Texans at?
They're awful

not bitter, bent OR disappointed and not sure who you are trying to speak for AS being disappointed in/about the packers org even over the last decade or 2
.....or 3...unless you are a Packer fan....then you certainly could be speaking for yourself. To me you come across as the bitter one about your own teams suckyness and then trying to say Packers fans should somehow feel letdown by their team as well.

Save words like bitter, disappointed and failure for when describing your bears team, it sure does fit that story more appropriately.

exactly my point,....poor teams like the bears are constantly looking for a high draft choice as the thing to get their team out of the cellar, even though the best
picks often come in later rounds or at least late in the 1st round like rodgers. Packers GM's prove this point year after year.

The bears org. never seems to have the staff needed to assess talent in trades or on draft day.
