Cuthead hurt again

6th round draft picks are certainly not locks to even make the team. They could have paid the millions to somebody that might have a positive impact on the team. But I guess in Chicago they don't mind throwing money at players that don't help win games. As in Cutler. Terrible management of resources unless they have a bottomless pit of money and the salary cap doesn't exist.

Cutlers deal wasnt as bad as some of the others. Right now he is actually worth the 16mill cap hit...if the team was anygood. From the start of the deal it was bad as he was the highest paid player in year 1 of the deal. I still dont kno where else the bears coulda went. Matt cassel? Ryan fitzpatrick? Just no QBs are available and after the bears went 8-8 with the #2 offense in the league, signing cutler made the most sense. Heinsight is always 20/20 but i get completely why they did it at the time.

And ya 6th round pics are no guarentee but the bears need young and cheap players to rebuild. U can find gems late in the draft as that has been proven time and time again. Hopefully forte will bring a 3rd rounder and if they decide they are not going to resingn alshon, he should bring at least a 3rd as well. That would be 11 picks next year of cheap young players, exactlly what they need

Given the history of the bears they would package the 15 low picks into one first rounder that would be a bust.

It will be interesting to see how deep the Bear fire sale goes? Cutler to Steelers for drafts could be in the offing as Vick has not been very good at QB in last few years & with Big Ben hurt Cutler could find a home in Pittsburg as a good #2. If Steelers can afford Cutler it would help them now!

Pace is committed to Fox and current roster not hacking it for Fox system. Pace looking to bring a winner to Chicago & not gunshy to make moves. I like it as current team going no where ranked last in the NFL. To me good for Pace!...back up that truck clean house start over....no day like today to begin again.:)

The only team we know that the bears offered to trade was tennesee. for the #2 pick..or mariota. We really dont know who else was offered cutler. there are few teams that he would have fit. I would bet cleveland or houston would love cutler right now. But There is really no way to trade a Qb, the reason why you rarely see Qbs traded. Im sure he could have been moved, but i dont think pace liked the return and felt they could compete with cutler this year while the rebuild. The bears will move on from cutler likely after the season, and it will be a boom or bust type scenerio. they with either find an elite young QB in the draft and become a playoff team year after year or they will wiff and be bad for the next 5-10+ years. wiffing on a top 3 pick kills the franchise.

The bears also traded bostic for a 6th round pick to New england, which makes for 9 draft picks next season, forte is next to go and jeffrey is also rumored to be on the trade block. While I agree with the allen trade and it was def something we needed to do, the bears payed 11.5 million bucks for basically no prodution. Another knock on phil emery and the old regime. But the 6th round return is better than the nothing we would have got by waiting until the season ends.

Totally agree Allen going now where with Bears and Bears going nowhere with Allen very good to move him where he might play another 18 months at most. He just wasn't worth much so is a good purge to get 6th round pick for him. Bostic never did well with Bears no good on pass coverage & so so against the run. Another misfit in Bears 3-4 good trade for 6th round pick.

lol,,,,'momoney slupring up kool aid today.

Its true lol. If..and its a big if, pace makes the right calls it wont take long. If he whiffs on whoever he chooses as the heir to cutlers throne then we will be a dumpster fire for awhile.

Probably not quick to the Ws but a rebuild just the same. With so many changes no idea when Da Bears will return as monsters of the midway? For sure going no where with current roster. The "big IF" Pace does turn the Bears around lots of team will want him as their GM. This guy is not afraid to make deals to try & improve his team. In my view why not? What is the worst that can happen more of the same? LOL

It's a dumpster fire aready so far no real quality players have been purged. Bostic & Allen are not stars now, Allen was when young, Bostic a washout in my view good to move them both.

Yes we have a big dumpster fire roaring right now, but all the garbage in it will be gone.

Pace has a vision and obviously anyone or thing connected with emery/trestman is as good as gone. the only player worth keeping on bears now is current draft pics and kyle long and maybe alshon if they can agree he is not worth huge money. everyone else is liable to go bye bye and start from scratch. one thing will be true, we will be young next year vs one of the oldest team in the league that emery buillt up. age doesnt work in todays nfl.

If GM's succeed they usually stay put. Dont hear packers, patriots, steelers, ravens, seahawks moving their GM's. if pace builds the bears back to playoffs yearly, he wont go anywhere.... Lets just keep clauson on the field so we can lose lose lose. i see maybe 2 or 3 wins on the schedule....maybe san fran, vikings at home....maybe detriot at home...thats about it. that has #1 pick all over. hello kid from cal...welcome to chicago.

When I look at the schedule I see zippo Ws... lol.. This team is very bad! Da Bears will probably win 1 or 2 just the way the ball bounces...more than that would be surprising.

Another thing to consider with peppers vs allen. one plays with a lead more often than not and gets to "tee off" on oposing Qbs, knowing they are likely passing and can focus on pass rush. while allen lol never had a chance on that D, along with losing weight. With that said peppers is still a better player, i did lose some respect for him as he gave up in his last 2 years as a bear. altho i think it had something to do with emery and trestman, dont think he was happy how they handled the whole lovie firing along with running urlacher outa town.

Wholly chit....just imagine the Packers picking up Allen....top tier teams build confidence as well as build and renew energy ...Allen would come alive and be shatting out offences by the bushel...LOL...Peppers, Allen and Mathews on one team....Olie chit!....I love bein a Packer fan....you chitown folk sure can analize your teams to death!

I really hope so. But when cutler comes back they will win some games. To be honest they could of beat seattle but when u punt 10 times in a row and pass for 60 yards the defense is bound to get worn out. I hope they only win 1 game. That locks up the best QB prospect in the draft

being a packer fan and having the bears humiliate us in the 80's especially that Monday night game with the fridge running over George cumby on the goal line I hate the bears, always have hated the bears, and will always hate the bears, so I hope you guys go 0-16 that will live in infamy and have halas rolling over in his grave.

Well just for the record I like all North Division teams but a long suffering Bear Fan for sure. Right now it looks like the Pack will rollover any team they play never mind the North teams. I would like to see interdivisonal competitive games makes it more interesting for all fans.

My hope is that Fales get a chance to play...might as well see how he does in a regular season game.

I like the Bears getting rid of players for draft picks but a 6th round player only has about a 20% chance of success in the NFL. I would like to see them bundle those picks to move up in the draft, but they do need a lot of new players also. As for next year there is no guarantee they will take a top QB in the draft. Of course scouts are wrong all the time but most QB's coming out this year haven't brought a lot of comparisons to successful NFL Qb's. You may very well see Cutler back next year. They just lack so much talent at too many positions.
As for the Pack, I love watching Rodgers. His receivers are not above and beyond great, he makes them look great.

Possibly. But, on the other hand, playing Cutler could be a mistake. Here's why. Let's say Cutler is still out week 4, Bears lose to Raiders, season starts 0-4. Current rebuilding discussions hint strongly at Cutler not being a Bear for 2016. The argument has been "Hey, let's play Jay 1 more season while we fix the big problems, then trade for a younger, cheaper QB in 2016." But with Cutler out and an 0-4 start, why would you play him? So you can finish 2-14? Why would I risk injury to a huge salary, for a player who does have an injury history, just to look good? An injury to Cutler makes him untradeable. I would bench him, put a "For Sale By Owner" sign on him, and tell him to smile for the cameras. At age 32 he is still a marketable player. As mentioned above, Pittsburgh could use him. But, if he gets injured it is a huge hit to the Bears 'cause they are then stuck.

The idea was to play Cutler in 2015 to at least have a somewhat decent season. Now that it appears the 2015 season is a bust, trade him now while you can.

I just have to ask... What is all the talk about getting a high draft pick and using it to get a top-notch QB? When have the Bears ever gone and built a championship-caliber team around a QB? I have been following them for over 40 years and do not remember it ever (unless you want to count Bob Avellini, LOL). Heck, I think in '85, the Bears defense put up as many points on the board as McMahon!

Ryan pace offered everything including cutler to draft mariota in last years draft at #2. So we know how he feels if he can find a young QB he likes.

Its a new NFL, the days of going to the super bowl with rex grossman are over. Without an elite QB you have virtually no chance of winning a super bowl anymore, let alone being a playoff team year in and year out.

we just need to look at the teams who make the playoffs every year(colts, pats, packers, ravens, steelers, seahawks..).....they all have one common denominator....a QB who either is elite or rises to the occasion when the lights are brightest like flacco or eli manning. Every GM knows for sustained success a QB in todays NFL is a must.

I could argue the colts have one of the worst if not the worst rosters in the league, yet he trumps all their issues and gets them in playoffs 3 straight years he is in the league.

There are many scouts calling groh from cal the best QB prospect since andrew luck, if this holds true, he will be the #1 overall pick, hopefully by the bears. because unfortunally the next JJ watt does nothing for the bears. JJ watt is great and is awesome, but he touches the ball once a game if lucky and does not make the playoffs.
