You guys crack me up!
How's it going this week Gary?

oh who knows. Some good choices, then again still some ice cream at night.... easy to procrastinate and say I'll lose some weight this summer. I'm trying to not "diet", but rather just make small habit changes. I know I could drop the pounds with a diet, but then once I get to the goal I stop the diet and just slowly gain it back. If I can just lose a pound or so a week by doing things I can live with in the future I think I'll have a better chance of keeping it off, but that makes it harder to stay disciplined now.

Good Monday morning everyone! when I joined in on this I mentioned how I drop 10 lbs. most summers just from increased activity, it's been a month
now 234 this morning, so down 4 this week, 13 total so far! Now comes the tough 10, It has really helped having encouragement from you guys! Keeping busy all
day doesn't hurt either. And Gary, I hear you, gaining back has always been my issue also, so my real test won't come until winter I'm afraid.
I am feeling better health wise for sure though.
Have a good week!

Brent

245.4. actually up 4/10ths from my starting point a month ago. About ready to say I'm not really changing a lifestyle but I'll hold out one more week and see if the daily motivation can kick in, or if this was just an idea that sounded good at the time but wasn't really something I was willing to commit to right now.

Great job Brent! Hope the rest of you are doing well too.

I'm at 205.8 this AM. I have not been doing as well as I would have liked to do but am no doubt in general eating less and burning more calories. Looking for 204.0 next mon!

For me tough part is coming, warm weather is grilling and beer drinking season. Lol
But like Lenny mentioned earlier, it is truly self motivating once you start seeing some results.
I've been more active , eating healthier and actually get hungry between meals now. So I know I'm moving in right direction.
Stay motivated people, sledding season is coming.;)
I weighed in at 207 this morning, down 2.5, 3#.

I finally got my bike in order and plan to do 15 miles Wed evening and than start increasing the miles as I get used to the stress, I hope my knees can handle it these days.

Gary, is there an outdoor activity both you and your wife enjoy that may provide some encouragement while loose calories?

Holding steady this week at 175 lbs & 13.6% body fat. My diet plan for last week had me eating 3-4 servings of fruit/day + 2 servings of vegatables and I think all the sugar & carbs in the fruit kept me from losing. This week I'm going to switch it around and go with 3-4 serving of veggies and 1 fruit per day.

Have a great weekend and get up-get out & move!

Good Morning Guys, well I had one of those weeks, 234 this morning so stayed steady, I knew I was eating just a little bit more some days but
apparently did just enough, I plan to do better this week!

Can't say there was a positive attitude shift this week, but I came in at 143.8 so down 1.6. I'll take it, but not one successful week does a trend make. Maybe I can get more serious about it and string a couple good weeks together now.

Good to see we are making progress. I weighed in at 204.6 so didn't get 204.0 even but did see lower numbers which is good. Just gonna keep at it and did get a nice ride on the bike yesterday. My old house it occupying a lot of evening time and I know it's an excuse but I somehow need to get moved into the place before winter and that is a monumental undertaking.

Did great during week,.up to 3 miles on treadmill. Fell off hard on weekend. Worked long hours so no workouts, took mom out to dinner yesterday. Also discovered bud light lemon-ade-rita. Mmm.
So back at it today, treadmill and no alcohol. Weight, holding at 207.

I am jumping back in ! Things are a little out out control at 299.9 this am ( not 300 !) my knees and hips and back and lungs are begging for mercy- I need to get a lot done this summer and I can't afford to put a turbo on my mountain sled and I am sure there are 100 other reasons I should be taking care of myself- I am sure because I have a book called 100 reasons to take....... not sure where it is -so I am recording all food, drink and exercise on a form I have- this helps me a lot so I will start there- thanks for keeping the thread going guys!

Welcome aboard dude!! Yeah losing weight sucks and easy to get frustrated and quit.
Take it slow at first, give body time it'll start coming off. I started walking in March and it probably took 5 weeks before I started losing.

Did 3 mile walk today. Green leaf/spinach salad with some cut up grilled pork tenderloin and glass water not milk for dinner.

Nice to see you jump aboard and I don't tuning hi are go a retreat it. My tactic is not working all the great because evenings are a struggle for me despite me working till 8 pm most evenings. Breakfast and lunch are easy for me to do well but sitting I da couch late evening I struggle. One thing that has been a help is sun flower kernels,,,, I love them.

cut out all grains, yes even wheat, up the healthy fat intake, basically only eat real food. Weight will fall off among other improvements. Processed food and grains are killing us!

thanks for the encouragement guys- Lenny regarding the sun flower kernels- I found a sunflower seed in the shell called "Kettle Roast". According to the nutrition facts on the back panel, it has a fraction of the salt of normal sunflower seeds and just a pinch of sugar-(less than one gram) The brand is "Giants" and I think they are all over the mid-west at least- if you see them up there give em a try- they are by far the best sunflower seeds out there (according to my taste buds) also keeps things moving through my system !

Well ---- I think I hit the "plateau" everyone talks about...... I weighed in today at 176 lbs and 13.9% body fat. This is the 3rd week that I'm either 175 or 176 and stuck between 13.5% & 13.9% body fat. My health coach wants me to continue with 3-4 serving of veggies and only 1 fruit per day but she also wants me to bump my workouts to 90 minutes/day and my protein intake to 200 - 250 grams/day. We'll see if that shocks my system into moving again. My goal is a steady 10 - 11% percent body fat and 175 - 177 lbs.

Welcome aboard Towtruck!!! Go back and read the entire thread. There's a lot of great information and support here.

Blessings--- Skutr
