Holy day! How many hands did you have for a single day of trusses, sheathing and paper? Many of the real work crews would not get that much done in a single day. Nicely done.

Its amazing how quick those pole barns can go up. I had a 30x48 one built 3 yrs ago and they had it done in 3 days. Day one they set poles, day two they set trusses and purloins, day 3 they hung the steel and doors and were done.

Good luck on the house building project. I remember the challenges from when we built our cabin 6 yrs ago on the north shore. Luckily my brother has his own framing company so we went up and got it all framed in and watertight in 5 days. Then it was a 180 mile drive (each way) every weekend to work on it. My wife would try to keep the kids occupied and I would work. We left our camper up there to stay in each weekend and usually hauled up the weekends worth of supplies each trip. We started framing in August and we painted and put in the kitchen and bathrooms right before Christmas that year so then it was livable. Still had to hang doors, put in flooring, put up the T&G ceiling, and do trim but it was livable at that point. Got all the other stuff done the next summer.

There was 3.5 of us. Manually lifting and setting trusses, lifting all the sheeting 1 at a time, sub fascia, drip edge, ice shield and paper in 11 hours. We had a pretty good system going. One guy up on the wall, me and another guy carrying the trusses in getting one side up then the other. Swing in place, guy on the roof set and nailed one end and I would slide the other side from the ground. One that was all done 2 guys on the roof and me sending boards up. As they were nailing boards I would prep for the next board. Just had to lay boards out in the right spots and be ready when they call for more wood.

It was a lot of work but worth it.

Today turned out to be a longer day than originally anticipated but I had to stick around to see the cement go in.

Yesterday I wasn't on site so this is the progress from yesterday.

Today it was mostly cement prep and cement and more cement.

Taking the weekend off, guys are going home to catch up and I'm having friends up for a BBQ. Should be done by Wednesday just in time for me to leave for MN and Haydays.

Another long day.

Side 3 sides of the barn today and got one garage door up. Tomorrow we should be done. Electricians showed up and started wiring also.
