If you don't mind sharing, what does it cost to put up a barn like that? I'm sure it's different at different locations and depending on options, but just wondering what kind of range you're looking at for something like that.

Look-in good!

I wondering why you went with siding instead of the traditional "steel pole barn" sheeting? I am guessing the siding that you put on was a little more $$$ but is there added benefits that go along with it?

Any one feel free to chime in on this one.

Had a buddy who built his Pole Barn just like Pauls, his reasoning, he did not want it to look like a Pole barn, with the siding, it also matches his house, so his reasoning was mainly Looks.

Not at all, the barn with concrete and a 3 man crew (paid) was just over $20,000. Electrical will be $2500 and Insulation around $1000. No heat is figured into these numbers yet.

Had a goal and we busted our butts to reach it. Hopefully the final inspection goes well tomorrow and I can erect the interior walls.

Good question and it's a rather simple answer.

I got the barn IF it matched the house. I told her NO PROBLEM! LOL :D

Only thing missing is the lights.

The siding is pure class - I could live in your "pole barn". But then, my wife has always said "If you build a shed, build it like you might have to live in it". I always have.

Thanks!

Today it was just me and the boy but we got the interior walls up and the blinds hung on the wall. Tuesday electrical will be done.

Wow that's it? We were quoted multiple times over $20,000 for a 12'x24' addition onto our existing garage. We got a quote of $18,000 from my dads friends company who built the house and already added a sunroom. Basically putting up 1 24' wall, and 2 12' walls... Really? 20k for not even 300 sq. ft.? We expected between 10-12k and when we heard the #'s of around 20, we quickly scratched that idea off the list...

It looks great btw!!!

How many shed/barns get built under those new code requirements?;)

It is looking good and your progress has been pretty impressive. Insulate the thing good when you get to that step. You will thank yourself for years.

It's been a while, Haydays had slowed things down a bit. Back at it this week and going hard again.

Insulation and Drywall

More importantly the county FINALLY gave us our building permit so the house started today.

With your location so close to the snowmobile trail, do you plan on stocking items like belts, oil etc for those coming in off the trail?

Are they going to get the house done in time before the snow flies?

No Skylar, I don't plan on having a walk in store. If we find we have a lot of requests for certain things we will stock them.

Another 12 hours.

Drywall and insulation is all up.

The "boss hard at work.

I was going to but business is crazy busy right now and I can't afford to dedicate the time to doing it so I hired a company today to finish it. Kills me to do that but I need to pay for all this stuff. LOL

Just like with Lenny's project, this is fun to watch go up. Like that your son has his jobs too! Bigdaddy always puts the kids to 'work.'

I should have taken pics of bigdaddy's pole barn at the White Pine house. They're putting the finishing touches on the monster roof today. Hope somebody's taking some pics.

Your build reminds me of John Dee's pics from back in the day when he was building the dream.
