Yep, saw the SledHead 24-7 show. The new Axys Assault was named best crossover and they will sell a ton of those!

Does the new Doo have a new gauge or LED headlight? I'm guessing so.

At about 10000 miles the 8dn belt will have worn deep grooves well into both Yamaha clutches....That ain't a cheap fix.

18,000 miles on my 05 Vector and still the original clutch sheaves. Seems like some people have the grooving issue and some don't. IMO...over the years on the Vectors, there have been a few items that have worn/broke quicker for some than others. Wide manufacturing tolerances maybe? Who really knows?

I see the latest Sledhead 24-7 has been aired. They slated best groomed trail sled the Sidewinder. The best rough trail machine is the new Cat RR machines and the best mountain machine the new 850 Summit.

Just watching the videos all three of the 2s mountain machines (Poo,Cat,Doo) they looked like a blast and you could tell they are really well behaved and easy to flick around in the deep powder. The new SW turbo looked like he had to muscle the machine more as you do with all 4s machines in that environment.

All of the new machines look so refined, there are so many fine choices. I really like the new adjustable bars on the Doo machines. Funny how they are all starting to look very similar with this rider forward styling.

Didnt see that episode yet. Seen the lester boys are claiming the 850 is the fastest production naturally aspirated sled of all time. Big claims as the 05 mach Z is still the fastest sled to ever make a run at old forge shootout.. force fed or not...time will tell. exciting times for MY2017

Was that mph? I remember the SRX 700 held down the quickest ET for a long time. I don't take much stock in those shootouts though. Conditions change from year to year. I have seen sleds get the crown and in the real world it isn't anything close with the masses.

I forget i think 108, i just know every year when the results are posted on dootalk of the current years speeds and times, the mach z 1000 die hards come on and make sure they kno the mach still has the fastest run

Does the new Doo have a new gauge or LED headlight? I'm guessing so.

The Doo's main headlight is still not LED. They do still have the accessory LED light that goes under the main headlight, but I sure expected an LED headlight to be standard like the Axys sleds and the new Sidewinders (and 2017 turbo Cats) have. Doo does have a new compact digital gauge on the 2017 Summits.

I dont kno if they do it to keep cost down or make money on accessories. But i can say i am happy as i paid nearly the same price for a gade X 850 2017 as i did for my 2015 gade X 800. That suprised me, thought it would be at least 1k more.

Right on Mo, going to the 850 seemed cheap considering motor, platform, clutch etc. being upgraded. I went from 600 Renegade E-tec to 850 Renegade for $1,300 more. I remember when going from 600 to 800 was about $1,900 more without any platform improvements.

It appears the 850 non-X Renegade comes with the round X gauge from last year that had altitude etc.
One bummer appears to be the 850 non-X Renegade does not come with the adjustable handlebar riser (it seems like early advertising said all 850's would have the riser). Either way, it is difficult to order a sled with a new platform if you have never seen the new platform. Heck, I did not see a picture of the underside of the right side hood until two days ago and STILL have not seen the battery placement.
Can't wait to go to Wausau (Rothschild) next week and tear that sled apart for reference.

I know I have been a paying tester more times than I like to remember NEVER again in my life

Doo makes a bunch on the offered accessories, that's for sure. But they offer many that others don't. We set our last sled up just as we wanted it.

I can say i hve owned 6 first year sleds and while there have been some minor recalls, nothing that has caused a mile lost of riding. To me its a non issue, especially with a good dealer and warranty. But understand somes concerns with that. Once bit twice shy

If the "good dealer" will give me a loaner sled every time my new sled is in for repairs, it would be OK with me! I guess I need to find that good dealer that's close to me.

A great dealer will loan you his personal sled on day 1 of a week long trip when he is out of rentals and personally deliver it to you in a spot your GF just hit a tree.

Happy for you that you have a great dealer.

Point being 1st year sled no worry when dealer has your back, even tho I think they have done plenty of homework on this engine and don't suspect any issues.

Looks like Doo is a bit thin-skinned themselves - it's not just their customers. They made this website add an addendum to make sure everyone knew they tested the new engine above sea level.

haha. Didn't realize they ran these at 6600 feet. turbo really should hand it a new one racing at those elevations. like comparing apples to cactus
