that is what happened to my 03 clasic this year while on the first ride from the running bear resort. bear set me up with the tools i didn't bring with to do the job so hats off to the running bear resort.i think it has something to do with the perc reverse and not checking it often enough.mine didn't break the case though

For future reference, the "ALL BALLS" kit includes 2 bearings, 1 seal all for $25 (enough to do one axle)

If you can't find them locally, Don at Hayward Powersports (XCR 1250 on www.hardcoresledder.com) has 'em and can U.P.S. them out to you

I do realize I could've gotten it for a lot cheaper. I spent almost $50 for my setup. what kind of bearings do the all balls kit include?

Very common on edge chassis sleds. I didn't even know it was broken.

Got the secondary together using the old clutch spring. Still can't get the driveshaft bearings out. Went to Harbor Freight to buy a press but the 12 ton was flimsy and the 6 ton was too small...

You need to get them off, and keeping to re-use is a waste of time. That is how you end up with a pole barn full of junk when your 60 years old... lol

FAG was purchased by INA bearing the largest bearing company. I believe its a german company and have very high quality products.

Got the sled together.. One small problem
Why is my track doing this? It comes off the bend towards the front of the rear suspension and it bounces up and down and hits the slides like crazy and goes clunk clunk clunk. I adjusted the track tension 15" from rear wheels from 1/2" to 1" to 1.5" and it still does it. I put on new slides and the track is different from what was just on there. Track has 2k miles and sled has 2k miles. Track alignment is pretty good. I disassembled the skid completly and repainted everything. I tightened up the front limiter strap (put it in a different hole) maybe the angle is too steep for the track and it comes around the bend and bounces up and down and slams the slides? What am I missing? I made a vid of it. You can hear the noise but can't see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XozWeUll-xU

Where did the track come from? It is the correct pitch track yes?

Did you take the drivers off for any reason?

The track does have quiet track technology (little bridges where the bogey wheels run) all bogey bearings are good i repacked each and every one of em. I will check over everything closer tomorrow. Maybe I'll have to relocate some bogey wheels.

OK...when you have an inch of play in the bottom of the track is the top of the track sloppy or is it tight?

Where i'm going with this is I've seen where the rear wheel assy wasnt assembled back together right and it pulls on the track and makes it tight on the bottom, but the drivers kinda keep it from tensioning properly.

I'm grasping at straws.....

yup, it is kinda sloppy on top. and tight at bottom. I can see the rear wheels sorta moving everytime it clunks. how didn't I assemble it right? i've done it a number of times... You're definatly on the right track
