Snow was awesome yesterday ...We rode out of the Tog Parking Lot and decided to leave our trailers up there for today ...Some Friends rode near and around Brooks and also reported great snow there ....Thinking oh maybe anywhere from 5 to 10 new Inches of snow on the mountain ...Snow is still here at Lava but there aint much ...But enough for you guys to ride from here along the road up to Brooks lake
Thank you! We are about 2 hrs, out. We got us a convoy! We see the mtns. Whoo hoo!

Bad shape in and out of Lava. Crust over sugar snow in the bush. Deep but not really usable. Got plan B for tomorrow and Hill Climb just got tossed in for end of week if it doesn't improve. Snowing pretty good right now. Plenty of Glory snow, a 121 would do just fine.

1" of fresh at lodge. Blue sky day. Going back up to CD lookout and burn area, lunch at Crooked Creek. (Been wanting to check them out.) Hopefully the sun will soften the crust up.

So..... Would you drive 15hrs out to Tog to ride? I've got the option to go to Togwotee but I'm not seeing the snow conditions to warrant the drive. Might be better to go hit the UP trails? I've got a M8 and a XF so I'm ready for either. Just need guidance ;)

If you plan on hitting trails its not a hard decision. Go the UP route. If you want spring hero snow conditions with the chance of seeing fresh mountain snow head west. Two different experiences right now.

I will trail ride the UP (obviously) but prefer good fresh snow riding backcountry. Sounds like there really isn't any?

Amazing what a day makes out here. First out this morning and ripped up Brooks Lake, upper brookes, all the way over to Togwotee before any traffic. Had a blast but had to go up,up,up. Got nice pics of tetons and had lunch at the Red Fox Saloon. Hit some of my special spots off trail V and CD. Brookes Lake Rd to Lava Mtn. Is bad. PB trail is mud for half of it. You have to get up in elevation to ride the deep Powder. Going to Breecea peaks and Austin peak tomorrow. Pinnicle bluff was also a today thing. For those who know of the tunnel under 26 between Tog. And Brookes is. Well that's the area to rip it up.

If you want fresh head to TL or Mass! Plenty of fresh and if you got spots in the bush to ride it sounds like the place to be!

Glad to hear you are finding good riding! There was good snow by the tunnel a month ago.

18 hrs driving for 10 hrs ride time yeah its worth it when u have 3ft +++ of fresh

I've never had luck backcountry riding in the UP. I guess I was thinking that going to the UP means trail riding and going out west means backcountry riding only. Prefer the backcountry but need good riding conditions to justify the trip.

sounds like u need to hire a guide to show u around the UP . if u are looking for big open meadows then no the UP is not the place but if u and deep snow technical hill climbs or high speed skidder track jumping off covered brush piles the UP is the place tp go.
PM me if looking for a guide for the UP my bud guides mainly north of the bridge crazy good rider knows the woods like the back his hand always finds fresh not real $$$
good god trail ridding in the up shoot me I cant think of much worse rather stay home and that is no BS.
IMHO the best trail ridding around is north of 200 in N MN. but I usually dont trail ride much but when I do that is where I go.and i did go last sat and the snow was great was glad I brought the M8 cuz we were able to go cross country through the Chippewa nat forest so the trail did not have me down to long

Forecast is for 18" at 9000 feet and above. Snowed all day. Rode with Skinner Bell today and he got us into some hairy canary stuff. Had a blast!

Lenny, we did way more filming then pictures. I will get them up once they are edited and on youtube. Also we will be in Flatlanders III. The Thunderstruck Films crew were also out here filming with some pretty serious turbo sleds.
We are skipping the Jackson Hole hill climb and hitting the new powder we just got here all day long it snowed and it is still snowing tonight. Way better then what we had when we got here.
