A winter storm watch for Vilas County and north Tuesday night through Thursday morning. 6-10” with higher totals possible, perhaps up to 16” in lake belt areas. Looks like a snowy week up here.

A "Winter Storm Watch" has been posted for the Keweenaw with 12 to 16" possible especially in the higher terrain areas for Tues night through Wed. GFS & Euro models are currently showing a significant amount of snow here. This is not exactly how I would like this to pan out as the ground is still warm, this is going to be a wet mess. Be careful out there if you are traveling anywhere & shovel wisely.

We have had some cold nights and some small shallow lakes have some ice on them. This starts as rain and then transitions to snow. The good thing is that right now most of the lakes are still open so the snow isn’t going to be sitting on an inch or two of ice. I guess we’ll see how this pans out by Wednesday. Love a good snow storm!

Have to start building a base asap so right on time imo. Looks like cold coming in after Les event so that’s good just don’t know without Dee forecast how long the cold will last. Time will tell…..

This would be a great start to the season and much needed for everyone in the snow business. Get the snow and the freeze those lakes in Wisconsin over the next week.

Going to be cold nights after the storm hits, more snow on the weekend. Just hope they haven’t hyped this up too much that we get disappointed.

And by Monday morning there will be a million sleds up here thinking because we have 12-24” of snow why aren’t the trails like mid January trails. It’s been raining for the last 4 hours and going to rain most of the day so everything is going to be sloppy wet then get covered with a bunch of snow then eventually get cold. So it will take some time to get things ready.
