Michigan restaurant and bar shut down

My wife works at ProHealthcare in Waukesha, WI. When COVID hit in March/April they furloughed a lot of people including my wife. She was out for two weeks and was called back, they only called back the people that they wanted, not sure what the % was but it was not 100%. They are always asking her to work late or pick up days that she has off. We are of course thankful that she is working but they must have lost a lot of money during this first months of COVID and are now just making due with short staff to try and catch up.

Home schooled kids have been doing it for years **** decades at this point and have it under control. Just 2 more example of govenment not able to finds its way out of a paper bag .
If I were a teacher right now I would be real F ing nervous about my career choice. 1 teacher can now do the job of many districts not just 1 school .
No more big buildings to maintain no more pensions contributed to no more %1 line ittem on your property tax . And in the not to distant future a algorithm will be doing the job .

As far as bars it won't be long till some just start saying F you we are open . If it comes down to giving it to the bank or giving it to the state the middle finger will feel best and at least give you a chance

This is the most ignorant thing you have ever said Ezra. Wow....

Really so home schooled kids who BTW are light yrs ahead of public school test scores have not been doing virtual learning for over a decade ?
Or are you are saying with virtual learning 1 teacher from there home cant do the job of say 20 teachers you know like the home schooled kids have been doing for a decade?
Or are you saying a bar owner looking at foreclosure won't say F this and just open up and take a lot ditch effort to save there business,

You obviously have never taught grammar school. I would love to see you address, say in first grade, how five students cannot write their name, five are reading at a third grade level, two do not know what a number is, etc... Now multiple that by hundreds with one teacher virtually. And I haven’t even brought up the parent factor. I can go on and on, but your so intelligent I’m sure you could do it!

My spelling showes public school proficiency.
Again home schooled kids results are what they are . I would also be nervous if I were a teacher right now

Do you think LEO REALLY want that to be part of their job or seriously will enforce it? If so, you never worked around police officers. Where exactly were the BLM rallies that you've been attending?

I completely agree with your statement above. Certainly an emotional reaction bleeding through the computer.....

In Barron and Rice Lake 25 to 30 percent of health care workers are out of commission either because they have Covid, or are an immediate contact with someone who does. Like their children. That is directly from a provider that works up there. It's not so much the beds. It's the current lack of staff right now.

And this is why the lockdowns are pointless. The above problem will continue to happen if we let fear drive our decision with COVID. I say this as someone who had to run a company this entire year and also someone who has had COVID. We are making a way bigger deal out of this **** then it needs to be.

Many LEO's are absolutely happy to enforce the covid stuff. Are you kidding? Plenty of videos out there. You're talking about a group of people that by and large enjoy and are attracted to authoritarianism, and the covid regs are just another arrow in their quiver to lord over the public. Certainly not all of them, but A LOT of them.

All I am saying is that you can't complain about the onerous regulations being forced upon us by an overbearing government, AND lionize LEO's with sainthood. They are literally two sides of the same coin. Law enforcement - over the history of humanity - is how big government and regimes force their will on the common man. Law enforcement is a necessary evil that must be restrained and monitored.

And please with the BLM stuff. You know there's really two groups to the right side of the political spectrum, right? Those who like themselves some big government from a right-leaning perspective, and those who generally just want the government to do basic things like infrastructure and defense and otherwise screw off and stay out of people's lives. I'm part of the latter group.

Where on earth do you hang out that you think cops enjoy enforcing COVID restrictions? Heck, most police unions supported TRUMP in the midwest, a president who was doing anything but shutting down things this summer/FAll

I have seen this both ways. The public schools around here are basically just places you go to find out where and when you are going to play your next football or hockey game. Or volleyball or basketball or track or god knows what. Actual academics are just an afterthought. They graduate with honors and then they get to college and find out just how dumb they are. But by god they can dribble a basketball. As far as home schooling most of the time these kids get to be 18 and can't balance a checkbook. There are a few exceptions but mostly the home schoolers don't have much luck in college. It goes back to the parents on both levels. As far as standardized testing that is a joke too. They take the tests three times and after that if they don't pass they get kicked ahead anyway. It is a joke. But on the plus side society at large is getting so dumb that they blend right in anyway.

While I agree with you, I have seen videos of Police actively enforcing an obviously unconstitutional executive order and they weren't too remorseful. I would guess it's a tiny percentage of law enforcement that agrees with this crap. Probably about the same percentage that needs to be weeded out like the officer up in Minneapolis. 5% maybe?? not really sure but I"m sure it's minimal.

What shocks me is when I see ex-military or current military generals going against Trump and what he stands for. It blows me away that you can serve in the military and be against conservative values. Just like a politician claiming to be "a good Christian" and support abortion after the 3rd trimester or even after the baby was born (Pelosi). It doesn't add up. Sorry John If I went too far and pull it if you want.

Do you think firefighters love a good structure fire? Of course, they live for it, in spite of the loss of property.

Do you think paramedics enjoy at some level a nasty car wreck, and the work that goes into trying to save a life. Sure they do, in spite of the potential or ultimate loss of life.

Do you NOT think LEO's who enjoy the authority of their position and enforcement of the law, don't also enjoy the fact that there are now more laws to enforce and more authority to carry?

Ultimately, folks in law enforcement should really align themselves with the authoritarian left and democrats, because that it where the spirit of their career lies. This whole "I'm a small government conservative" in their personal lives, and "do what I say because I am the hand of big government" in their work lives doesn't ideologically reconcile. They're opposing ends of the same spectrum. Cognitive dissonance.

And traditionally they have. This year, with the whole "defund the police" movement, it shifted.

home/virtual schooling takes a completely different discipline than in person, and I will admit I don't have it and neither does our daughter, even in my business, service updates and dealer meetings are all virtual as well, and I hate it. This virtual/home schooling is not doing many any favors and some a fault of their own and some not IMO

Well I guess my opinions on this are based off what I have experienced over the last 8 months. I also never base my opinions of what i see in videos online. You have no idea what the real truth is behind those videos.

You should meet my brother in law......You would probably have a heart attack. This is a guy who retired as a Colonel. And was on the front line in the middle east war zones at one time.

I've read all of the responses and it sounds like everyone unanimously agrees......Yes! Bars and restaurants and clubs should set up outdoor food stops so us sledders can keep our bellies full, stretch the legs, and get warmed up on those super cold days

They "love" structure fires because they spend their entire career learning what to do to put them out. They get to do a part of their job that is much more interesting than responding to some doofus alarm guy that forgot to call in a test. This isn't ****ing Backdraft, where they go out and start them. Paramedics are a certain breed and although they might enjoy the "rush" of the situation, they don't really enjoy having peoples' lives in their hands. Most paramedics do their best to get off the ambulance. I'm not sure what bizarre world you live in, but most of the cops I know and have known just want to get through the day with as little BS as possible, do what they're required and expected to do, and then go home every night.

Speaking from 25 years as a firefighter/paramedic... this ^^
