Trestman wants to wait a few days either respect to the WIlson training camp effort or feeling good about his depth. Emery will pick up another WR if speed talent gets cut soon & they will.

One day after the Bears lost receiver Marquess Wilson indefinitely with a fractured clavicle, they bolstered the position on Tuesday by signing Greg Herd to a one-year contract.

Herd entered the NFL in 2013 as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys and also spent time with the Seahawks last summer in training camp. In four seasons at Eastern Michigan, Herd had 165 receptions for 2,343 yards and 17 touchdowns.

The Bears also waived linebacker Conor O’Neill, an undrafted rookie from Wisconsin.

Yea #3 wide out open for the taking....at least until wilson is back. Wilson posted on internet that surgery went well and minor setback. We r gona need him at the end of the season so no rush. Should be back by week 4 or 5 at the latest.

This penalty crap has got to slow down. I really hope these ticky tack calls dont over flow into the regular season....is gona ruin the game. Plus the extra referee thing they are trying....I duno...slows the pace down...let them play a little. Im all for pass interference but comon...

Bears were flat in Jag game Palmer finally got them going with a jaded ruffing passer call....not impressed with Bears D at all.... maybe looking to Seattle game looking past Jags only thing I can think. Sleepy game at best although back up RBs looked ok.

I cant say I was impressed either. Starting line up wasnt set and no fuller or willie young. And I dont remember seeing lamar houston or DJ williams out their. I mean they play just a base defense man vs man so take I for what its worth. Every preseason game i have watched has been all offense. In 2010 the bears D looked terrible in preseason and that group was pretty good. Cutler looked good 7-9 with a tuddy. And if marshall doesnt drop that pass they keep going. OLINE looked great. Cutler is a man on a mission. He has never looked this complete and comfortable. Must be nice being able to actually go into year 2 of an offense without the O coordinator getting fired.

Seattle game will tell a lot about Bears. Every team gets up for SB winner but Seattle so good I don't think it matters just everyday biz for them. Bear D better wake up for Seahawks O or risk being embarassed & if Bear O doesn't start quickly they will get stomped then meet in regular season for another stomping. I think Bears are a better team this year but seems most clubs are better too. If Bears start slow it will be a very long fustrating season.

ya gota remember this is pre season. No one game plans, and everyone plays base formations and schemes. Like I said the 2010 bears looked terrible on defense in the preseason yet was the most dominating defense in the NFL that year.

Preseason is the most misleading part of the year.

Week 2 at san fran win or lose will see where the bears really are. I expect a azzbeating week one hosting buffalo.

week one we will also see where the packers are as the gotta go to seattle.......tuff one. U know seattle will be jacked.

I'm not much of a sports fan, but I've always followed the NFC North. I grew up in St. Paul, and I remember my father taking my brother and me to the December Vikings/Bears game in Met Stadium every year. I now live in Door County, where Packer is a way of life. My girlfriend, who has access to season tickets, is taking me to the Bears/Packer game on Sunday night this year. It will be a blast to see it!

1st Bear /Packer game will be interesting this year. If Bears are going to take the next step they need believe they can beat down GB to #2 in North. My gut feeling is maybe this year it could happen if not Emery & Trestman will feel extreme pressure to explain why not?

rodgers looked good as usual yesterday....their offense should be good as long as they can protect the QB.

I honed in on peppers every play when the pack was on D. Was stuggling getting of blocks big time. Same problem he had last year for bears. I think hes gona be a disappointment for them this year. I heard they lost their rookie TE for the year.

Bears play 5 of their last 7 games at home. If they can get thru the 1st 8 games with a 5-3ish record they should be set up to make a good push.

IMO Peppers was a big mistake for Packers he may have a few good games but not 16 games. Pack must be desperate to get a pass rush going & Peppers was availabe so took him. Peppers was an inpact player just a little better than ordinary at this age & Allen is a better guy to spend big big bucks.....good motor & great team attitude just what the Bears D needed. Losing TE Zack Miller for the season is a bummer he is on IR but poor guy is not durable too bad he was looking really good.

Anybody watch the Vikes? I know it was against the scrubs but Bridgewater already looks better than Ponder ever did. When he throws the ball it doesn't hang for 6 seconds.

I just seen some highlights..looked pretty good tho.

I heard someone say cassel has the highest QB rating in the NFC driving into work this morning on espn. Bridgewater must play tho...sooner or later if hes ready.

Da Bears released QB Jordan Palmer quickly after dismal game in Seattle. Lots of NFL team cuts this week & going to be good players available could be interesting.
