No One Excited About JD Xmas Forecast?

This Xmas storm would set up the WI Northwoods & the WUPMI for the season. Are we hyped out after the last storm?

It would be nice if it moved about 200-250 miles south of where he has it. That would still wallop the entire state of Wisconsin, most of MN, & northern IA. As it is shown now it would be rather wet and depressing for the southern half of WI and northern IL where we have an early season base starting to set up where clipper-type snows would keep them in good shape for a while.

It would be nice to have a wetter snow anywhere in WI & UP. This last storm just too cold to produce anything but powder but on the positive side lakes & swamps froze up and should be ready for Xmas week.

Some people have to work snowdust and don't get to sit at home and post stuff here.

But..to answer the thread question - YES I am but we'll likely end up with less than 1/2 of whatever gets predicted the day b4 the storm hits.

thought you had WD's post on block GD?
I get it just looking for honest trail reports like all us.

It is a ways out and trying to breath and not get to fired up about it. I sure hope that Santa brings this snow in the UP. It is what I asked for Christmas.

I'm just hoping the north shore gets pounded as we always head up there for the week after Christmas and we could use the snow to get things going up there.

I'll have some real time trail conditions on Tuesday night.... Venturenorth and I are going to ride some groomed trails & FRs from Phelps north see what is doable and up to our standards. Could be all day could be an hour and over just don't know until we do it. Don't get GD stirred up as if he needs it.lol

Yep got 4 inches out of the 6-10 that was forecasted this weekend. I will once again say "I will believe it when I see it" Besides that is to far north for me...

These annual holiday dumpers seem always find a way to just fizzle out :( Butt the after New Year day slammers seem to be a bit more reliable in years past... :)

Fool me once....

Not to pick on you, but where does that statement emanate from? Below is a map of my snowfall forecast for the storm and right below it is what fell. A bit off in spots, especially SE MI and N. IN/OH, but most other areas seemed to get what was called for?

I guess I am just wondering why it would be thought that my forecast was no good, so I can better present the info and not cause confusion like this?

Time will tell..... The media no longer reports the news, the media creates the news in order for ratings to charge advertisers ........ a snowy forecast a week out will get everyone in a lather, hotels will fill, sled reservations will book, and the news will keep creating......hope its true.

I think it was because the storm came in two waves. It gave people time to clean up from round one and it wasn't that much snow that it got people thinking, wow this was a dud. Social media was in a tizzy at NWS Saturday morning...omg. I will be honest, when I woke up Saturday morning I was expecting to see 6 plus inches of fresh on the ground. That didn't happen. It wasn't until Sunday morning when it turned out the weather forecast did come to fruition. I ended up with 10 inches in 'Tosa. I think the weather forecast could have been better conveyed with two Winter Weather Advisories than a prolonged Winter Storm Warning.
