Similar situation here. The sad thing is I was blinded by “Love”. I turned into a whimpering pup for 28 years! Long story short. I bent over backwards to try and make the split easy but she seems to feel our lawyers need the money more than we do. Hard to understand why people do the things they do. Your so right about the “best experience” point of view. I have learned what I want and need in a relationship. For so long I thought you were supposed to make sacrifices for your significant other. Quite the opposite. They must except you for who you are and vice versa. Changing for the other person is a crock of shat! I’m a flirt! (like no one here knew that already) its me and if you cant except that then its your problem not mine. I my next lady is a porn star and I cant except that then its my problem not hers. Just not fair to put guilt onto someone for who they are.

Julies
You got that right! Thats hat I like about the people here. They except me for me! Even knowing I get paid for sex now! lol

Keep a strong upper lip Julies. Remember what ever you do, "No bad mouthing the EX". Your daughter will never forget things that you have said. If your EX has been stupid and said things your daughter is probably questioning his actions and is not sure of the situation.
As for the procedings of a divorce. I suggest that you do mediation. It is 10x's faster than the courts. My mediator was a retired judge (most are) and there job is to make a fair split on paper before it even goes before a judge. Be fair on your requests and they work very well. If one of you wants the MOON, the mediator will let you know really fast. My mediator actually told my EX and her attorney to take my proposal because if it goes before a judge he will recommend that she gets less than my original offer. Best of luck!!!

Julies, Keep the high road, and remember, its just "stuff", even the sleds. Everything can be replaced except your happiness and your daughter. Keep her in good spirits and that will keep you in good spirits. I leaned on my kids for that whether they knew it or not.

Julie,
A young lady (Ashley Simon) and her younger brother just moved here to Waunakee, WI from Prior Lake, MN where you are at. She manages the new Anytime Fitness and her brother is going to go to the UW here as we are just N of Madison.

I told her I follow a snowmobile family from her hometown on this site along with others.

Leaving tomorrow morning for the Dells for some camping.

BV,

What a great thing you have done with your hair donations.

Julie S,

If I could..a word of advice...if your sure it's over and if I had if to do again...I would file ASAP. In my case money disappeared from a retirement fund and was never found. My friends warned me that he was doing it but, I was too late.

Also, not sure how MN works but, In MI if you have a child it takes 6 months for a divorce to be final. I had to go through a 2 hour and 4 hour session with Friend of the Court with the EX on the affects of Divorce with Children. Also, in MI it's now mandatory or at least it was in Jan of O8 to go through 1 hour of Mediation. In my case I wished I would have done it first instead of last. One good thing at the first court appearance the Judge made it mandatory to go to Friend of the Court with financial info. to decide who pays what for now until it's final. Look up your local court on the Web. They have lot's of great information and can help you fill out papers if need be. Also, Friend of the Court has some great booklets. In MI the Judge likes to see the mom keep the house if possible if she has custody. If you have any more questions feel free to e-mail.

Back to my somewhat vacation. Took my pool down and have been trying to deal with landscaping issues around it before burying it.

I also, had my mom fall 3 times in the last 3 weeks and to the Drs 5 times for injuries and issues. Trying to get in home help for her.

AMEN! Big Vin,

Been a while, I have been lurking but not saying anything cause I had nothin to say.
Biggest news around Central IL is the Extreme Makeover crew is in Bloomington IL. They have equipment in Bloomington and Champaign. Next Tuesday some lucky family will have a visitor at 9:00 AM and sent on vacation while their home is knocked down and a new one built.

Greetings from Hancock, MI! I have been having a great time here at the Ramada socializing with friends and kayaking. The temperatures are unbelievable. We launched our kayaks from Bete Gris beach yesterday and paddled to the Montreal River. Very cool paddle but there were residual swells from the prior day which made the trip interesting. We were going to land by the Montreal River but decided the surf was too strong to land and paddled back to Bete Gris. All I have to say is that is was HOT! I think the temp was around 88 degrees. Amazing for up here. Today we had classes at Sandy Bottom Park in Dollar Bay. One and half days of classes to go until I head home.

KBoo - Hang in there! I'd hate to say this, but my divorce was a cakewalk compared to what yours is turning out to be and what others have been through. Not having any kids made it much easier for me I guess, but it still was an unpleasant process.

And now for a couple of lines from a song I used to hear when I was younger in the Chicago area on WLS radio (I think)....

Aw, what the •••• do I know, I come from Waunakee, I wear animal pelts, I eat raw meat and sleep in a hollow tree....

Pretty funny how I still remember some of that song. Good night from the Keweenaw!
