Just wondering if poo got the bugs outta this one yet? Found a killer deal on a 2008!!!
Turn around and run away. There are reasons it is a steal. Many things were tried but no definitive fix was ever agreed on. Hopefully the new 2011's are going to work. All previous Pol 800 twins have had issues.
I know what you are trying to say, but not all PREVIOUS 800's had issues. pre 06 were just fine. The pre power valves where fantastic motors. My brother has 14,600 miles on my 01 XCSP I sold him with 8800 miles on it the first 2 yrs I had it. 3rd track (because of stud pull thru) and 1 drive bearing is it. If the 2011's RMK's have issues I will go back to Doo. I better lock in Doorider1 just in case? hope not.
I have an 09 800 IQ and NO PROBS. if you get it right I say buy it. Polaris is suppose to have yet another reflash to match the new 2011 800's. I have a pc V on mine . LOVE IT goes like crazy!
The new 2011 800 Pro R Rush will be put to the test the week before Christmas, on my first snowmobile trip. Also my 2009 800 Dragon will get the latest re flash that came out this last spring.
I have been lucky my 2009 800 Dragon has always run great, my friend had a 2009 800 IQ no problems almost 2,000 miles on it sold it 3 months ago bought a new 2011 800 Rush also. I had to keep my 2009 800 Dragon I could only get $4,400 for a trade or less I kept it.
With North Country gone! There phone still works???
I picked my 2011 800 Rush up in IL a few months ago, so I have not had time to call up North to North Country. The dealer in IL 2 weeks ago told me about the newest re flash for my Dragon, so it will have the one like the 2011 Rush.
This why I deal with 2 dealers if one goes under I have a backup!
The 2009 800 IQ went for $4,000 on trade for new Rush. Nobody wanted it.
If any one has a dealer who will give a big price on used sleds let me Know?
I checked 5 Polaris dealers in WI all would give within 100 to 200 dollars in trade for 2011 800 Rush!
PCIII or PCV controller is the fix. Many happy 800 owners afterwards. Just costs a bit of dough for a plug and play fix...
NORTH COUNTRY is still in business, just not a POLARIS dealer for new sales any longer.
They still will service POLARIS stuff.
Several other dealers in Northern Wisc and U.P. also no longer POLARIS dealers, Tom's Ontanogan, and a few others.

I have one of Jim's maps on my DRAGON 700. From the factory it had that annoying mid range LEAN spot, felt like I accidentally hit the kill switch.
RICHER in the mid-range and LEANER on TOP end for the last 2 seasons, runs great
3900 + miles, and very happy with the PC-3 and Jim's map
It'll be the BEST $25 you'll ever spend
