John,
Maybe its time to add a political sect!!!!!just a thought.....if someone don't like it the don't need to go into that section as thi seems to happen alot!!!you would have those who steer clear and those who don't.........just what i noticed=sled site political sections seem to be a buzzz in the summer!!!!!sled stuff section=no buzzz....
Come to think of it, that may not be such a bad idea.

It nearly blew me away when Pasty.com, of all places, added a political page around November 2007, entitled Politics and Religion, Ketchup or Gravy. (Feel free to peruse that forum as an example.)

As I said there at the time:
"By FRNash/PHX, AZ (Frnash) on Saturday, November 3, 2007 - 12:56 pm:

I haven't gotten over the shock yet.

I am still utterly amazed at the appearance of these new forums (fora?) in Pastyland: Politics, Religion and Whatever?

Such a bold (audacious? brave? brazen? bodacious? courageous? daring? dauntless? diffident? fearless? fresh? gutsy? intrepid? nervy? plucky?) move by the powers that be.

It seems thoroughly out of character and utterly inscrutable, given the former long standing cautious, faint-hearted, timid, timorous, trepidatious approach to anything the slightest teensy-weensy bit controversial.

What happened here?"
I will tell you that it did serve to keep the political discussion off the main pages, and although it got quite intensely political at times, even the political discussions remained remarkably civil! That forum section has since gone relatively dormant, with the last post dated August 24, 2010. Of course it may pick up again with the coming presidential campaign season.

Sart = bad. Good riddance. We will all be so sick of politics in another year and 5 months it is good to have a place where there is limited politics. It is already getting bad. I already know who I am voting for anyway. Joe Walsh. At least he can play the slide guitar. The rest aren't good at anything that matters. Summer sucks.
