I'm sure some of you long time JD'ers remember back to the days when I was remodeling my freebie shed into a little shack to store my 99 Indy 500! Well, my parents 2 car attached wasn't cutting it anymore and as all young adults I wanted to be out on my own. After a stressful couple months trying to purchase a home without any realtors and not exactly having a clue what the heck I was doing, I closed today on my first home! It has a 4.5 car attached garage that is finished off/insulated and has a natural gas heater, the 3rd stall is 40' deep with a garage door going out the back! I guess the 2k sq ft house is nice too :) I'm renting the home back to the current owners (I've known them for almost 15 years) for a short period of time, so will have to hold off on some "garage mod" pictures & updates.

Way to go Indy! Good move and it looks like a sweet sled shed. There is going to be a lot of wrenching and talking smart in that garage before long. Looking forward to the garage mod thread too! :) No need for the Z71 seat now that you have a house to use. It's time for carpet burns. ;)

You have always performed beyond your years and this is another example of that. Proud of you Indy. Cheers!!

Nice job Indy, you have always been ambitious and it shows. Congrats and I cannot wait to see what you do with that garage!

Welcome to home ownership I see less snowmobiling in your future. You have made a very wise move I had a friend buy a house very young he brought in friends/renters to rent rooms in the end it cost him about $400 a month to pay his mortgage out of pocket.
Good luck enjoy

Well done. Cheap money right now. I am planning my house building project right now and that is about the right size garage. When I was your age I bought my first shack and it had 26x32 garage detached. Guys came over for poker night twice a week. We ended up drilling a hole in the wall and inserted a large funnel for a redneck urinal pissing station. Good idea then.... lol Have fun!!
