Well thanks to inconsiderate people we now have to shut our gas pumps off and have people come and give their credit card or helmet before paying!!!! This is the 8th drive off in 5 days and when you make 10 to 15 cents a gallon it doesn't take long to go in the red. I'm so torqued right now i feel like simply yanking the pumps out of the ground.......... I don't usually get this mad but i'm tired of it. You offer a fair service at a fair price and this is the thanks we get. So if your wait at the pump angers you please think of the jerks who drive off!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for venting but it's unacceptable. Soon sledders will have to bring their own gas just to ride because stations like ours and krupps will be buttoning up the pumps if this crap keeps up!!!!!!!!!!!!

....and with fuel prices lowest in 7 years.....I don't get it.
You have a real nice set up there Kip....THIS SUCKS.

I feel like sending you $5.00 to make up a little for the idiots just so you stay open.

W T F is wrong with people. Anyway you could install wireless web cam out at the pumps. But then again why should you have to invest more money into security just to provide a service.

KIP,

That is so horrible my friend. I was wondering with all the traffic,... how many "other" things
like THAT you guys have to deal with. Truly UNEXCEPTABLE. We really rely on your place
for just about EVERYTHING from the little "extra's", to the "top-off's" , and of course the ladies
appreciate the ladies "room". Let alone your Friendly and EXPERT SERVICE!
So sorry that these individuals have done this.
It is so so so hard to catch these jagweeds also.
Just have to leave the card FIRST.
Hope some "KARMA" catches up to these people.

Thanks for letting us know about this,....
and Thank You for all You Do!!!!!!

~Vin

That stinks! I would like to hang out and watch for those people and chase them down. I'm sure there would be the lame excuse we forgot!! Whatever!! I hope you don't take them out its a valuable asset in the area!!!

I am embarrassed that sledders would do that, with gas being so low right now that is totally unacceptable. If you have to make us come in first then do what you have to I for one understand. It must not be totally uncommon up there as I've noticed that Krist stations in the area have that bring in your helmet policy before you pump

Can't kelp but disagree with you on one point Kip....I wouldn't simply call them inconsiderate...They flat out robbed you . They are criminals.

If this is a rash of robberies in a short span a time I'd bet they are connected somehow.

Thank you all for your business, it's appreciated. I do have cameras here but it's always big groups and you simply cannot keep up with everything here. It's not a great excuse but it's the truth. You have a bunch of people inside and a bunch outside and it's a rat race. It just sucks. We've never had these issues on a regular basis but this year is just unreal. I've tried to hold off on enforcing the credit card/helmet deal but it's simply getting out of hand. Sorry for the inconvenience to you all.

X 2 on the cameras. Sucks but I think its just common in today's world. Also, I just assume every pump already has some hidden camera. I wonder if they know there is no camera? Or that might be giving too much credit because the people that do this type of thing are usually idiots.

I know some places have put up signs up that say "We have security cameras on you" and they put up 'fake' cameras. Lost cost investment, and it keeps the 'honest criminal' from stealing. Might stop some of them, but not all I am sure.

Very sorry to hear Kip - big time sucks. Part of the risk of doing business, ( failure to pay for materials/services rendered - bad debt expense in the accounting world) AS I SUGGESTED in a prior post on the "LOGGERS" thread.

No doubt this was riders that FEEL ENTITLED to free gas because they bought a Michigan trail sticker, to quote the twisted logic of some on that thread?? (sarcasm)

There's always going to be people like this, particularly as we get into a society with ever diminishing morals and ethics, but that's a whole new discussion for another day.

Turning a negative into a positive here. Maybe the come inside and leave your helmet before you can gas up thing might increase sales. I know every time I take my helmet off at Kip's I end up spending money. LOL

probably stupid to ask but I'll go with it anyway, how much do the cc machines on the pump cost you besides the 3% fee from the cc company? Could be a simply pay with card or bring helmet in policy, I know you want to drive foot traffic to the show room but I'm guessing you wouldn't lose that much due to the conveniences you have inside???

Keep your ears open while at the local watering holes, dip****s like this tend to brag.

Put those "smile, you're on camera" stickers all around. Doesn't matter if your cameras are not watched all the time.

For the rest of us doing the right thing out there, keep your eyes open, need to support the businesses that allow us to have our fun

JUST RIDUCULUS!!!!!!
I'm so for bringing back capital punishment, public canning whatever it takes.

On funnier note. My parents went out west this fall and filled up at a station right when they left. Mid week my sister stops over check on house and there's a phone message from police department saying they drove off without paying.
Well luckily they paid with cc and had a receipt. Turns out the clerk mis identified the vehicle.
But it was still fun telling them the police were looking for them! :D

Sorry but I couldn't pass this up. X2 on the capital punishment, and if we are going to be doing some public 'canning' let me know, my grandma's sweet and spicy pickles are to die for.

I know our place is kind of a social watering hole so sometimes people just forget and after all people are human but 90% of the time those people call and say hey Kip we forgot to pay for gas and give a credit card over the phone. It's not so much the money that makes me angry, it's the good honest people that I have to tell hey you gotta leave your credit card or helmet and also the slow pace of the process that pi**es me off! Actually funny story... I had a customer call me and tell me they forgot to pay for gas and they gave me the exact amount which was 24.61. I informed him that I checked my records and showed it being paid. He was in again today and insisted he didn't pay and I told him I'm sorry I can't take your money as I have to trust my records!!! LOL!!

I sure the customers you WANT to have will understand and will have no problem complying with the new security procedures you need to implement. It stinks but it's part of doing business. Most of us here understand from our own experiences too. Don't worry. Keep up the customer service...everything will be fine.
