Actually, I think the path now is perfect. Can’t waste good snow down south where it won’t last!

If the track was about 100 miles more south if would still hit the Northwoods & the U.P. There would also be more snow a little south to distribute traffic. John is saying a colder pattern after the storm so it would hold up. Let's hope for snow some where at this point. Merry Christmas

70 to 75% of happening are pretty good odds! All that pink covers all of Vilas as well as WUPMI. Fingers and toes crossed for this storm!

Yes,... because these storms never disappoint...

Just finished looking at things, and I am not going to do any maps/text today, but if I did, it would be quite similar to yesterday's. Go just go back and look at it for today's!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Looks like you like playing catch and you just threw the dogs a "encouraging bone".

Thank You!!!

Sadly, this storm keeps trending NW. Right now, only the very western end the the UP cashes in..... earlier in the week it was the entire UP.

Notice the winter storm watches aren't even in Michigan now.

Here's my opinion, unless lake effect snow over performs, we are ****ed until at least Jan 4th or so.

The Eastern UP is going to be closed for business through mid Jan at this pace.

We're shaping up a real crappy winter or at least start of it

1 month of meteorological winter already wasted.

SNOWFALL PROBABILITY 0% - 100% Northern WI - Vilas

4% GREATER THAN 15 IN
30% 10 - 15 IN
44% 6 - 10 IN
17% 3 - 6 IN
5% LESS THAN 3 IN

Look at 4 sites including this one. Either way, it will be high moisture content. Greater chance of 10-15", than there is of 3-6". I like the odds.

Nws out of Marquette hasn't issued any warnings or watches for the upcoming storm yet. Reverse psychology maybe?

Latest I saw today on the weather channel showed both European and US models came together and graphics now look exactly like John’s. Still early but I like what I’m seeing for Vilas and the WUPMI.

I hope you're correct WD! We don't need no stinking rain!

December often yields the most snow downwind of the lakes for the entire winter. It's a very important month for lake effect snow. Most locations are running at 10 to 25% of normal for the month. It hasn't been a bad month, it has been a horrendous month.

Just like I said, the far western UP.

This isn't what we saw 24 hours ago. The entire storm shifted 100 to 150 miles or more.

Enjoy the snow Ontanagon into Houghton, the rest of the UP gets very little.

Looks like rain for us in Hayward. No watch for us. High of 35 and rain for Thursday now.

Ok now we are in a Watch, but I’m still seeing a lot of rain. 2-6” from the weather channel, and i gotta laugh at accuweather...10-15”. NOAA is at 4-8”. I’m going with 3-6” with rain on top.

Could the snow gods help us out for once, we have been patient enough. It would be nice if we all ended up with all snow and no rain even when they predict it.

If we get rain, which is what it’s looking like, that will keep me busy with 10-50s. I’ll be ready for the tones to drop.
