I can remember being in grade school in the early seventies when all the guys were all excited about a panhandle low forming and hopefully dumping on southern Wisconsin,I guess nothing has changed much.

I've been praying for it to turn more south it looks like it's going the other way. We'll see what John's forecast says but it looks like it's going to be a bust

Not much graphic variation from previous graphics when you look at John’s WI and WUPMI storm duration total graphic. It has been my experience over the last 15 years that John is accurate with snow accumulation in Phelps once front side, back side and lake enhancement is all said and done. I probably won’t venture out until Monday so WI and MI clubs have a chance to groom trails. I also need to check out my FRs in WI and MI to clear trees and see if unplowed and where there is logging. Should be fun just need to be patient wait it out. :)

For all of you who get blessed with good snow to ride out of this storm, enjoy it safely, and report back to those who are high, and dry without snow!!!

You guys do know Vilas trails are closed. Right? Lando is aok and they don’t much care if riding to UP from Lando. Saint needs to open with the Vilas Alliance that’s why I’m sitting until Monday allowing Vilas to get their act together. Watersmeet rule of thumb is dispatch groomers when 1 foot of snow on the ground. Somebody has to be first so have fun probably will all work out by Saturday if John’s graphics are in the ball park.

Lots to do around the cabin/house or, trailer up to the U.P. But my fingers are crossed for a Friday Vilas opening.

December often yields the most snow downwind of the lakes for the entire winter. It's a very important month for lake effect snow. Most locations are running at 10 to 25% of normal for the month. It hasn't been a bad month, it has been a horrendous month.

Just like I said, the far western UP.

This isn't what we saw 24 hours ago. The entire storm shifted 100 to 150 miles or more.

Enjoy the snow Ontanagon into Houghton, the rest of the UP gets very little.

exactly why we base outa mass..pretty rare we worry about snow..
