Okay, I give up, what the blazes does the "huron bay mountain club", "Huron Bay Club", or even the Huron Mountain Club (Hurray, ya finally got it right, Perfesser!) have to do with this discussion anyway?

The Huron Mountain Club is located roughly roughly 5-10 miles WNW of Big Bay (or roughly 30 miles NW of Marquette), and has been there for what, roughly 120 years(?). >>That's roughly 30 miles from the Gay/Lac La Belle<< area, and totally irrelevant to this discussion!

The Huron Mountain Club is a stretch futher than 30 miles...even if you go across the big lake....if'n by land, quite a bit further.

But this still doesn't explain why this was brought up regarding abuse of property owned by others....

I agree with Ezra, many people on here are condoning this trespassing. This is his land, to do with as he likes. He does not have to allow this and to suggest this is a fight he can't win and that he should just allow this, and then to suggest that maybe he sell his land if he doesn't want to deal with this is ridiculous.
Have you thought of placing some large boulders around the gate to the tree line? I do agree that talking to the neighbors and trying to get everybody to band together is a great idea, along with getting the law involved. Good luck with this and sorry to hear you have to deal with it.

just a thought- got to wonder if the people responsible for this crap is lurking here just to see what is being said. and they may now know what to be looking for in the future.
best of luck getting your problem solved.

I Agree snoluver1

What?? Hurt a kid who hasn't grown up yet? **** find his parents and assult their feelings! Tell em the next time their kids violate your signage you'll personally will take it up with THEM! It worked for me with a kid riding his 250cc trail bike wide open[opened pipe] past my house at 3:00 am. I was p-ssed for my family be awakened, but his parents welded the silencer in their kids muffler. Now that's being RESPONSIBLE ! Turned out to be nice neighbors.

I go out of my way to be friends with the young kids in my area. This past summer we had a few big rounds of mailbox baseball and mine was one of the few that remained standing. New thread please.

Face it, you can't fix stupid.
Including some of the folks posting on here. To many under educated and illiterate.

Suggestion: How about a deep moat with draw bridges?

Cannon turrets would be a nice touch also.

This thread has gotten WAY out of line.

The guy is pissed and justifiably so!

Nobody here has "condoned" the actions of the perps.

HE needs to contact the LOCAL authorities AND clubs to explain to them his problems. Only then can a plan be implemented to TRY to resolve the issue.

If it's not resolved, he has every right to close the trail. It's not fair to us snowmobilers who respect the rights of property owners but, we DO have to respect his decision, regardless of the consequences.

I hope it gets resolved but I am not a local to that area and can't do anything about it.

Let's just hope, for our sake and the local businesses, he decides to take the high road. That's the only way it will get resolved.

Bottom line, this is HIS property, it does not matter one freaking bit if the locals have been using it for years, if that is the case. It is HIS, and he can do what he wants with it. Does it suck losing this snowmobile trail, **** YEA IT SUCKS! Does it suck that he is closing this snowmobile trail to all the law abiding sledders because of a few jackazz's, **** YEA IT SUCKS! BUT, again, it is HIS land, and he has the right to do this. BOTTOM FREAKING LINE!

P.S. I love beer. :)

Anonomoose is a prime example of why our country, and world, is in the shape it is in. If someone does something to you that you dont like, and is illegal, just say, oh well, cant stop em , so I will just roll over and take it with a smile.

this is funny.. no matter what season it is everyone seems to try and outdo each other in the "do right" department. then it becomes rediculous. go back and read some of these posts in order. LMAO

First of all it saddens me that you have to deal with this kind of nonsense!! I feel your frustations that's for sure. If i'm understanding u correctly however it seems that u have issues with atvers tresspassing....not necessarily the snowmobiling communty. So i have a few ideas for thought on your part.

1. Seems to me that with all the DNR pressence i have seen on the snowmobile trails in winter that it would also be in their interest to maybe SET UP on your property during a heavy traffic weekend and start issuing tickets just like they do in winter!!! Think i would nicely work with authorities to gain revenue for the state and bring awareness to people that it is NOT a trail open to ATVing. Maybe talk to some of these tresspassers to see if your suspicions are correct and they are being told by a local they can ride there.

2. If it is a case of just ATV riders that you are having issues with and feel the need to put in a moat to keep them out how about working with the local snowmobile club and putting in a removable bridge deck for summer months. Stop the atv's yet snowmobile club could drop bridge deck back in place for winter access.

Just hate to see few bad apples ruin it for the majority of us all. I know it happens other places as well and it's just not right to the land owners. I live in southern MI and fortunately we live in rural area where most farmers and land owners have lanes and trails thru woods that we (locals) all ride.....but we stay on trails and are NOT destructive to their properties. We have had about 40-50 miles of trails all connected thru fields and woods for years and have never had issues....(except with the occasional sale of a property) and the trail must detour a bit.

I'm sorry u are dealing with this issue and i hope there is some way to over come the issue without anyone being hurt, angered or unhappy....and i certainly hope the snowmobile trail does not have to be closed.

Anonomoose made perfect sense in my opinion. Aparently, the problem with our "country and world" is how completly different we all think and see things, depending on our upbringing, culture, and life expiriences.

ps: I love beer! (thats my new favorite sign off. Thanks Skylar) I'm cash'n out on this one. We'll never all agree, and the points of both sides have been made.--NEXT.
