I didnt see anything about suspending grooming...I did read the gloom n doom trail report on their website, and laughed my nutz off...I just got back from 2.5 days in Vilas county and the U.P......During that duration of time I saw a total of almost 6" hit the ground in downtown Eagle River...Another 6"-8" in Land o lakes...Tuesday am I rode down to St Germain to scope it out for myself...Well I would rate it 8 out of 10...This morning I woke up to 4" of fresh snow in LoL...And the same storm dumped 2"+ in E.R. Crossed paths with a total of 9 sledders in E.R. and St G area all day yesterday...I started riding @ 7am this morning...Fresh groomed all the local E.R. trails, Yep I was the first rider on them, and the trail to Conover, although not groomed overnight had a fresh/virgin layer of 2"+ of fluff...Rode from LoL to Marinesco late yesterday afternoon...Saw 50 sleds parked @ Dutch's Bar lol.....All in all a nice 300+ leisurely miles on what was supposed to be JUNK trails if you listen to ALL the experts...LOL
that report is encouraging for sure. I haven't heard anyone report in from Watersmeet north to sidnaw, bruce crossing or over to L'Anse and Big Bay. Would love to hear reports from those areas. Have you heard anything?

On Sunday We rode from Twin Lakes
Down through Bruce Crossing to Bond Falls
( did not go down to Watersmeet)
over and North on Trail 107 to Kenton, Sidnaw, Alston back to Twin Lakes 167 miles
I'd give it a "8" or better overall as of Sunday

One other thing I forgot to mention...AVOID Tr# 17N that goes to Phelps...The city/county snowplow drivers plowed the road routes the full width down to pavement...Would be better to run into Conover and take the lake route...

The crazy about doing this is now there will be more damage to the road surface due to carbides and studs. You would think just to keep the road surface in better shape that they wouldn't do this. Hopefully we get some wet snow Saturday night that will pack nicely.

Ask a city plow truck driver what he gets paid for and he will say to plow roads of snow effectively to keep drivers safe on roads they plowed. Then ask can’t you go easy on the plowing when a marked snowmobile trail shares the road and he will say ,no not my concern. I have had that conversation that’s the answer I got.

Just more of the same s--t whitedust. It's not only plow drivers, it's all over, everywhere, and everything, they just don't care? Sadly that's the world we live in, just as in the trespassing issue.

Old Abe and garage guy I will have to disagree to a certain extent when it comes to the plowing part. Plowing has been like this for decades up here with an occasional change of you did get a driver that cared but then they move on and back to plowing down to dirt. So it is more of a personality thing with the drivers if they care about their community and what drives it or not. We actually have a local bar 1/4 from trail that goes past a county plow drivers house he will plow and leave nothing for the sled to get to bar which pisses off owner but then goes to that bar I it is no big deal. Bar owner is way better than me he wouldn’t be allowed in. But he has been dealing with this sense snowmobile trails were invented.

How do you get the snow depth to show up on those COD pages? I only ever get the temperatures it seems.
click on GFS long range at top, then winter in left column, then total snow accumulation kuchera in left column, then you slide the tab at the bottom for 16 day forecast.
It's fun to look at, but I've found that it's way high on snow totals compared to what really happens.

Well wha about the people that live on the road and don’t care about snowmobiling
, don’t like loud pipes waking them up late a night and demand he pads are cleared as good as other roads?

Ya that GPS looks sweet. I don't believe for a second tho I"m going to have almost 3 feet of snow in my back yard in the next 17 days.
My weather apps show about 2 inches for the next 14 days.
