It was overall pretty good on Sunday. Fresh groomed only issues is not enough snow to fill in the natural land bumps so it has some bumps that just be fixed without more snow or a bulldozer in the summerHow is the trail from Presque isle, WI up to Marenisco, MI?
It is, but there was a lot of people last week blowing things up on Facebook as to why Oneida wasn’t openingI'm confused thought Oneida Co. was closed?
it's a poop show right now in Oneida County....I'm not at liberty to say anything at this point...but it's UGLY..I'll post something as soon as I canIt is, but there was a lot of people last week blowing things up on Facebook as to why Oneida wasn’t opening
The county just needs to be split up into 4 quadrants plain and simple. Everyone south of hwy 8 does it, time to get on board.it's a poop show right now in Oneida County....I'm not at liberty to say anything at this point...but it's UGLY..I'll post something as soon as I can
I totally Disagree with you...there is no more snow in Minocqua than there is Tomahawk...east to west, south to north the snow difference is less than two inches.....there is no need for zones in Oneida County....they make more sense in Vilas where there is a huge difference in snow fall from North to South....this is totally about greed and over riding the snowmobile clubs...watch what happens ...again I'll post something when I canThe county just needs to be split up into 4 quadrants plain and simple. I’m not speaking precisely right now. Maybe on this current day snowpack is very close from north to south, but year to year it may not be. (From what I saw on Sunday though, there was a huge difference from three lakes to pelican lake) And that doesn’t take into account land features that may require more snow and/or better freezing in one part of the county compared to the other. I live in Outagamie county, which is much smaller (644 sq miles compared to Oneida 1232 sq miles) and we are split into 7 zones…I totally Disagree with you...there is no more snow in Minocqua than there is Tomahawk...east to west, south to north the snow difference is less than two inches.....there is no need for zones in Oneida County....they make more sense in Vilas where there is a huge difference in snow fall from North to South....this is totally about greed and over riding the snowmobile clubs...watch what happens ...again I'll post something when I can
They operate in both Vilas and Oneida.I'm confused thought Oneida Co. was closed?
Only thing saving what’s even left is the clouds. If the sun comes out on Thursday it’s over.Kind of a mute point when it’s 40 degrees outside ain’t it?
and even warmer on Thursday
Would love to drop down from Marenisco to PI, MW, Mercer then hit Bear Chasers and back through Hurley to the UP.Talked to riders yesterday who said it was good. Presque Isle has been grooming regularly and that is not a very heavily traveled trail. 10 miles of winding through the woods until you hit the railbed (2). Also hearing that Marenisco has been grooming regularly because they have the snow to do it. We received 2-3" of snow overnight in PI.
Thinking about doing the opposite. Ride PI up to Marenisco for a little lunch at Dutchs.Would love to drop down from Marenisco to PI, MW, Mercer then hit Bear Chasers and back through Hurley to the UP.
Where should I have lunch in PI or MW? Liking riding through there Monday-Wednesday)Thinking about doing the opposite. Ride PI up to Marenisco for a little lunch at Dutchs.
I think only places open for lunch in MW are Pea Patch and White Oak Grill just south of the bridge by Greer’s on 51, maybe Rustic on 51. Call ahead to make sure.Where should I have lunch in PI or MW? Liking riding through there Monday-Wednesday)
I didnt see anything about suspending grooming...I did read the gloom n doom trail report on their website, and laughed my nutz off...I just got back from 2.5 days in Vilas county and the U.P......During that duration of time I saw a total of almost 6" hit the ground in downtown Eagle River...Another 6"-8" in Land o lakes...Tuesday am I rode down to St Germain to scope it out for myself...Well I would rate it 8 out of 10...This morning I woke up to 4" of fresh snow in LoL...And the same storm dumped 2"+ in E.R. Crossed paths with a total of 9 sledders in E.R. and St G area all day yesterday...I started riding @ 7am this morning...Fresh groomed all the local E.R. trails, Yep I was the first rider on them, and the trail to Conover, although not groomed overnight had a fresh/virgin layer of 2"+ of fluff...Rode from LoL to Marinesco late yesterday afternoon...Saw 50 sleds parked @ Dutch's Bar lol.....All in all a nice 300+ leisurely miles on what was supposed to be JUNK trails if you listen to ALL the experts...LOLI just saw that Cross Country Cruiser are suspending grooming TFN due to low snow, and heavy traffic....but hey let's open Oneida County...smh
Yep...It's there...My Bad...I didnt see anything about suspending grooming
