Yeah we are hoping to get out with some ATVs this weekend and at least get some of the trails in...definitely will not be driving any trucks out in the fields.

Well on the plus side our trails are in for East Troy in Walworth county. We took advantage of the semi dry Saturday and warm temps and got everything marked. But now it in the 50s was 62 yesterday with all day rain. We are a long ways away I have a feeling.... :( It is sickening when you look at the cams and snow cover maps for the Midwest. Let's hope 2016 brings something better because it looks like December is going to be a bust for nearly everyone.

Think snow.

No snow yet just a lot of wind. Sounds like we will be right on the edge with this one with the temps playing a big role. I heard 3-6" for Walworth county this morning. If it stays colder we will get more of it gets warmer we will get less with more sleet and ice. So will be interesting to see what happens. But sounds like Fon Du Lac, Sheboygan, Dodge, Jefferson and counties further north will get much more. Either way I am getting sleds ready today to ride tomorrow somewhere. I will report back on this areas conditions.

Well I would doubt that walworth co could open for a while, I know our Elkhorn Trails still need to get finished putting in as we still have farmers fields with standing corn and fields that are under water and can not even get into to mark. Hoping that the ground firms up this week and we can finish next later this week. The swamp by abels corners has Feet of unfroze water in it. Pray for cold before we get snow.

Yeah figured that would be the case. We struggled getting our trails in for East Troy area but we managed. We got about an inch now of ice/ snow. All snow right now. Will post back.

Picked up 3-4 quick inches it's all BS now with sleet/ice coming down for last half hour or so. Hopefully it switches back to snow. At least this storm should give us a pretty solid base if we can hold it until another storm.

Sounds like we need to get out there and pack it down ;)

I would say we picked up about the same in Kenosha. Its more like 4 inches of sleet than snow though.

The travel Wis website says even though it snowed, there isn't enough to open the trails. Pray maybe a bit more falls tomorrow than they have predicted. Temps look to keep most of the stuff around for the next week, so all we need is a bit more.

Talked to a lady at sun rise lodge. She said 7" on the ground. Says tralis suppose to open tomorrow.

Vilas trails will open 8AM Wednesday but ask what the trail conditions are rated within a 50 mile circle of of Lando? Anything more than Poor is misinformed or dreaming. Vilas will stay open now even down to bare ground so ask the right questions.

Saw pictures from someone grooming on facebook and I'm pretty sure there is more snow in downtown Chicago than there. I think the wet conditions is what is preventing riding down here right now. Look up like Vilas County Snowmobile trails on facebook. It's a page, not necessarily any person or organization, can't remember right now. The pictures were essentially grass driven over by the groomer.

I just took a ride on my sled through a couple of fields around my house in Beloit. Put on about 10 miles it was real smooth with the wet snow & sleet we got I was riding on top of the snow. Even rode through a corn field was not bad. If we can keep this as the base, with a few more inches it will work.

Still a ways out but local weather this morning was calling for snow perhaps end of next week. Temps are supposed to stay cold and then around freezing end of next week. This could get us going around here finally. I guess we will see. Reminder please stay off the trails in our area as they are still closed.

Waiting for 1 last field to be cleared of corn hopefully early this week, and have to do some work on 1 bridge and all the Elkhorn trails will be in. I can after marking Saturday, there was ZERO frost in the ground and many areas were all water/mud under snow. We need some sub zero weather if there is any hope to get frost this season. Its not very pretty out there, i mean 90% of the trails would be ok but the problem will be all the low areas and swamps that would not be safe to send sleds out there IMO. Pray cold, then snow

Looks like we will get majority rain later this week....should make it a mess again. At least with the cold temps coming next week it should all freeze up pretty darn good. Then we will hope we get snow.

I did notice some grooming yesterday in Parts of walworth co out by Sugar Creek area. The corn is down as of Monday and finished installing stakes the last 2 nights after work. Should be good to go after the next cold snap if we can get some SNOW!
