Big Daddy and the 13 year old were already "building their own sled"

I've been assured there will be no purchases. Even the 13 year old said it was just fantasy shopping - I had to tell him been around THAT block a time or 2 and "fantasy shopping" is how it STARTS!

Fantasy ONLY? Switchback Assault for BigDaddy and 13 yr old.

(Mine? that spring order only retro decal-ed 800 Rush Pro R...saw it on the showroom floor and wanted to win the lottery real bad! :) )(But if I won the lottery, I'd have a fleet! and wouldn't be on JD cuz I'd be riding where there's snow!)

Sled Solutions - that is indeed a SWEET sled!
WT....you are way to smart for your age.....that means BigDaddy is either one tiny step ahead of yah...or you are ALLLLLL over that poor guy and he knows it! Either way, that sounds like a tough house hold....

I still remember the time I sneaked out and chopped off a 04 switchback, on the way home from the "last trip up" and it sat in the trailer in the driveway alllllllllll summer long. Then I was in it doing a bit of house keep'n and the real boss showed up, and stuck her head in and said...."Hey.....where did THAT sled come from...." Stupid polaris...putt'n all thos graphics on there, screwed me over Royally....so I just grinned and said, "Oh, that sled.....would you believe it followed me home.....ah, dealer gave it to me.....ah, okay......what's it gunna cost me!"

Near as I can figure, that sled cost me triple! Boxed it up the next year and sent it to sweden....some guy is prolly still ride'n her around up there.

Learned my lesson, yes sir reeeee....always buy on the way UP north, not down.

I know a guy in here that has to buy same color sled ever time so wife don't figure it out. Then he goes and buys a white cat and all deals were off for him,not sure if he ever rode it again after he got it home?

I just read that Kens Sports sold out of there preseason allotment. They are taking no more orders on new Cats. I thought Arctic Cat would want to sell as many as they could and not have an extra stock of like F Series.

They have special pricing on the first 200 snowcheck units sold, after that pricing goes up but they will continue to sell just a different pricing. When i snowchecked my Polaris this afternoon they still had a few spots left for Cat and Polaris before price goes up. Cody had a stack of preorders for both companies 2 inches tall.

I am laughing so hard at moose and PR1 I almost tinkled myself!

Moose - YUP! That is INDEED the lesson you should have learned!!

PR1 - did that really work? Buying the same color sled year after year? Why didn't he just paint the white one and save himself a lot of trouble.

I could give a lot of pointers to the men here on how to get away with purchasing the toys and still keeping the boss happy with minimal payback?!!? :)

Again, if I didn't snowmobile too life would be a lot different for bigdaddy!

When it all boils down to it? It's just money and ya only go around once. (Not that I tell HIM that!) We live on the cheap so we can have toys. When bigdaddy bought the 600 for the boy (no 120's or 440's here...give him something he can ride when he's actually legal??), he bought a 700 that "came with it" - "Why don't you just test ride it and let me know what bugs to work out so when we SELL it I can make sure it's perfect." I'm still TEST riding it!! :)

I know he's itching for a new sled. I know it's coming. They spent HOURS customizing that Assault Switchback - all for FUN? Oh, I think not. But at least bigdaddy loves a good deal. I guess that's the good thing about so few miles this season...limited wear and tear on the sleds!

" he bought a 700 that "came with it " ..... LOL

I just flat out tell the truth, everything is for my wife, she owns a 07 800 XRS, 08 600RR, 07 F6, she just sold an 09 800R XP with a skull wrap, and NOW she is eyeing a new Pro Cross 800 Sno Pro, she just can't decide on what color and if that Pro Cross 1100 Turbo comes with it ...... I personally think it does.... ( LOL Harder ) I keep telling her to make up her mind already !

mj - that's right...it's all for her. I hear that A LOT! "But I bought if for YOU!"
I'm sure you'll, I mean SHE'LL make up her mind about that color and you'll be the first to know!
Certain traps I've fallen into - what color do you like better? Red or orange. I think he's talking about flowers or maybe a nice shirt? Of COURSE!! ;)

Trebsdub, I am going local on purchase. Cody said I had to order today (I knew it since this past monday) for the price. Local dealer Nelsons was $190 higher this week but will be $10 less then Ken's next week. Nelson's Speed Shop is 26 miles from home and I have bought over 22 sleds from them since 1985. Very respected company in Michigan. Also price is good until April 19th. same 4 yr. warrenty and same 0% interest one yr. same sled. But thank you for all the info. My salesman at Nelson's is also named Cody. We named our 2nd oldest child after him.

first we got to figure out what it is worth! I am sitting on the fence. Narrowed it down to a 2012 RMK Pro155 in black w/ elec. start. Dealers are sluggish on getting pricing out. Kens has been awesome on the phone. Nelson's can't match their prices, but very close in price and location to me. Peacock no answer, after asking several times. snowcheck direct is way high, Polaris West same as Ken's but even further away. Rexburg to high by $500.

You may want to try Honda east in Maumee Ohio. They have already super low prices and if you get them a lower price from someone else they should beat it. The rzr I just bought was $11,425 out the door with a 5 year poo warranty. The retail price is $11,199. No one could beat that deal.

why snowcheck?

seems like in our area if you wait and buy in late dec. you can get a better deal then if you snowcheck. we dont get much riding in before that anyways.

When you snow check, you are then guaranteed the model and color you want. Many colors and limited edition models are only available spring order. You get a better warranty also, $600 in clothing and 12 months interest free financing from Polaris, for example. They all offer pretty good incentives to snowcheck. So you may get a better price in December, but you have to buy what they have and you get a standard warranty with no clothing and no interest free financing. Snow checking's not for everyone, but it makes plenty of sense to many of us!
