Why chase snow? Wawa is ever so close. instead of turning left when you cross the Mackinaw bridge you go straight. for the guys in the lower it is about the same as driving to Marquette. Got a day permit and then ride off trail the rest. That means trails that are deemed closed because they are not grooming them because of lack of riders. Those trails are for the most part in excellent condition by our idea of good trails. Crossing the boarder is a pc. of cake if you don't have any priors, DUI's or are wanted on back child support. Leave your weed and guns at home too. Stop in at Duty FREE for provisions, booze, smokes, gifts, etc. and book on up to the Bristol or Wawa Motor lodge and ride from parking lot. Head over to Hawk Junction for a teddy burger. Ride the Badlands just out of Wawa. You will thank me.

PR1 - wish I could. WAY far for us...and no passports! Gotta have them to get into Canada nowadays...

But I'll put it on my snowmobiling wish list!

hey whats wrong with the snowies

I here the west side is way better than the east side. If I am driving 21 hrs. I will go another 5hrs to Tog. no comparision. Firecatguy what do you think? I really like Cooke City/Top of the world for riding. IP has no shortage of gas stations, stores, food along the trails nise too. Tog. is just so massive of an area with everything but to constant wind the snowies offers. Snowies has not enough gas locations or parking locations on the east side. Got to trailer in ea. day if not at the very few cabins offered and to many people there. It is kinda like the Chucky Cheese of off trail riding to me. Cooke City is like Cedar Point/Six Flags with tall coaster rides, steep and deep. Island Park is like the rest of the amusements at Cedar Point/six flags, has a good mix. Togwotee is like Disney World, Big and has a mix of it all. Revelstoke I heard is even more. Not looking to offend anyone but it is how I few those locations.

Out west is on the snowmobiling bucket list as well. My kids need to get older before we can go cuz who the heck would babysit the crazies if we left them at home?!? The 13 year old would never come back home with us if we took him out there, though!

We went out to Yellowstone in 2003 - we didn't know jack and jack left town! Great thing about all the good info from all the kind folks here that share is that we'd know how to do it if we got to go again.

PR1 has pointed out some really cool spots in Canada as well.

But I'd never be thinking about any of it if the UP had snow. Even when the Northwoods of WI has had some crappy seasons, we could always go to the UP. This season? We would have been better off not waiting for snow and just going to Oshkosh!?! :)

I think they have someone to watch them out to Togwotee. at least they did yrs. ago. Plenty of employees there who would watch them for extra money on there days off. Just an idea.

PR1 - am chuckling to myself (is there a smiley icon for that???) cuz you're running down my excuses! I don't know how to ride without a kid strapped to me!? But I would be MORE than willing to try?! ;) It's not happening this season anyway. But I know who to contact if we wanna git er done.

I was riding an Ultra when we went out there and had jetting/carb/what else? issues. But we got to ride in Yellowstone without a guide and without restrictions on our sleds. Which is why, even tho we were pretty dumb about it, we went.

I was telling Big Daddy (husb) about your Sturgis ride tho. I think that's more the page you're own right now. Before JD we never even knew a thing like momsmotorsports even existed! You finally get that booked up? That's a big crew you got going!

Are you saying Canada will not let someone in if they have a prior or DUI? I don't have any but just wondering.

The locals in Big Sky never go near Jellystone, we did starting in 1980 and it was cool then. But now we know better. Now we go to spots that I will not disclose. But they are in Montana. Bowls so big, pow so deep, and no one there. Been to Tog, and all the others, stop by the Road Kill Cafe and ask a local to guide you to the best places in Big Sky. Gas and beer, tips ect. Man I really need to ride. 85 and f'n sunny, again. WGal, I dragged my kids with, now they brag about it, it was always a struggle to get them on my page then. Even cooler is they hate me for addicting them to expensive sports LOL. Kinda motivates them, B's or no keys was the rule in my home. I felt like a real a..h.... leaving one behind, funny how it only happened 1X? As to the Canada thing, why do we let them in? My Ontario friend has lost his license in FL. for life and he makes the wife drive. But we let him in? My step Dad is from B.C and he is a straight up rich drunk and they let him in, 3 dui's. At least he is a fun drunk. Its still not right, and lifes not fair.
