Jut watched it, I removed the can, and that was it, no need to remove the upper air box, secondary clutch, belt cover etc etc.

To be completly honest I haven't even watched the vid everyone on snowest says to watch it though LOL

My bro-in-law and I just turned up his, it took 5 minutes, we didn't remove anything. just used a long socket extension with a knuckled (jointed) 8 mm socket and a long flat head screw driver. We'll be doing mine when i can get to that socket. i'll be doing 4 turns on the set screw instead of 3.

From what I've heard most people who did 3 turns took them to 35ish:1 Personally I like the sounds of 35-40:1 for oil injected sleds. I turned up the oil pump on my 07 IQ 600 (different style, more of a guessing game with 2 "adjuster nuts") this past summer which I later sold to my buddy it is now running 30:1. Between that and a minor rejet, the thing feels like its got another 20 hp? LOL It was 60:1 last winter when i ran it.

I just watched the Bikeman video. Recommends 1 full turn for stock sleds, more for sleds that have been modified. What are most folks doing?

I gave it 2 turns.

They are not all the same from the factory. My 800 didn't use much oil at all from factory. My buddies used ALOT more oil than mine. Both 2013 poo 800s.

Super 550- I asked what you rode because if your used to an older 800 carb and ride a 600 cfi it will impress you. Good chance its faster than your 800 if stock. So 600 is reliable and cheaper but if you ride off trail a lot in deep powder like u.p. may want the 800. The internet horror stories are way more common than the real life ones. Good luck with whatever u buy but im sure you will like the pro r chasis.

3 turns is what I am doing in the am. 65 to 1 is to lean. Oil is cheap. Put in 16 ounces of oil after burning 8 gallons of gas. That is insane. Using Amsoil.

I can show you a Yami 4s with 60,000 miles. That's a fact. Show me a 600 2s with the same. There is no way the Yami 4s motors can be compared to any 2s when it comes to reliability. I'm not bashing the Polaris 600, I ride one. Just sayin...

and I can show u a small hand full of yammi 4st just in my small corner of the world with fist size holes in the case what is your point?
I can show u a f7 that has been driven hard in my neck of the woods with over 20k on it still original and one f6 with over 30k 2 top ends 5 clutches 3 tracks.
most of your golden fit and finish yammis chasi are junk way before they get close to 60k on them.
I put a few hrs in a week helping a bud in his shop and plenty of 4st roll in the door and the money to fix is always high. oil pump yeah more than a crank job busted valve spring can cost more than a top end.

His point is that Yamaha 4 strokes are more dependable, on average, than a 2 stroke. :D

Yep here is the real world and not a made up world of 4s being more reliable. It's not quite as bad as thinking removal of turn signs make the trail safer though.

I disagree Ezra...anybody can dig and find something......on "AVERAGE" the 4 strokes will require less maintnance...and run more consistant
Don't be a hater ezra...lol The one thing Yamaha does well is build engines...(and fit and finish is very nice too)...they are a quality machine...nobody makes garbage right now...they ALL have their pluses and minuses....I went back to cat...bought an f-1000...and I like it alot...better handling...better ride than my yami...but nowhere near the engine of my yamaha.

and BTW....I broke the front arm on my skid on both my yami, and my crossfire....and blew out the rear shocks on my crossfire, and my rev....yamaha wheels on the pre 2010 apexes suck,.....driveline bearings last about half as long on a cat as a yami or a doo...and doo power valves on the pre 2007 models required cleaning more often than my cats or my yami's...and my doos ate more belts than any other brand. They all have their flaws...but honestly..I would ride any one of the 4, and be happy...they are that good...I like both 2 strokes, and 4 strokes...the smoke from my cat does get to you..after riding a 4 stroke the last 4 seasons ...but that's a smell...I kinda enjoy and missed with my yami...though my wife liked how I didn't smell after a long day...lol
