The weather station at the MTU Keweenaw Research Center (KRC) recorded 1.75" of rain in a one minute period. If the measurement is accurate, that is likely a US record and potentially a world record...

Ahhh, thanks! Picked up a few inches while I was at work yesterday, and snowing more now. I love snow but this stuff is pretty useless.

Youse are wasting your time. We tracked it all up yesterday.

Went for a little bike ride in the woods between South Range and Painesdale yesterday morning. The temperature dropped down into the mid 20's on Saturday night, so the snow set up like concrete. My buddy and I were on "fat bikes" with 4" wide tires. We were able to go anywhere through the woods...

I checked the AL cam a few hours ago and there was no new snow. Look at it now:

Extremely minor detail, but I think the heading for your woods cam image should read "Live from Dee's Woods". The pun might make some people smile, or maybe just me :) Can't wait to see some snow on there!

Keweenaw Colors from Cliff Drive on Sunday:

This was the view from Brockway on Sunday afternoon. Not a great pic, but you get the idea. Some color out there, but not peak yet. Near Houghton has more color than the northern Keweenaw. John's journal description seemed pretty accurate. It may not be quite peak color this coming weekend...
