    Arctic Cat layoffs etc.

It seems only us old guys remember the early 70s cats with Kawi's...they were good machines, and fast. The Ext's, Sno Pros and original El Tigre's all powered by Kawasaki (of course cat used JLO, Hirth, and Sachs too)....if Kawi bought them they could bring back the old school purple too...(cat...

    Arctic Cat layoffs etc.

Yep...I get it...feel the same way..although at the time I was intrigued by the cat/yami venture...Yami's chassis, and skids were junk compared to what was on the market...though the engines in my mind were top notch, absolutely loved my Apex xtx with eps...the motor and power steering were so...

    Arctic Cat layoffs etc.

I had really hoped that Yamaha would step up, and take the Arctic Cat line...and continue to install their 4 strokes in a new version of the catalyst (a wide body)....and continue with the two stroke line built here in the USA...with Yamaha's engine building prowess, and knowledge, I think they...

    12-16-24 ONEIDA COUNTY UPDATE

UMMM...NO....many of our land owners do NOT want atv/utvs on their land due to the damage they do....that's why there are very few trails in Oneida that allow utvs on them, and I don't see this changing anytime soon....it's hard enough to keep trails open for snowmobiles here....We have a bunch...

    Ice thickness

best rule of thumb....NEVER trust ice fishermen.....we all know what they think 6 inches is...lol.......we are seeing 4 to7...with a couple reports of 8" in the Tomahawk area...but I'd be Leary of those numbers after how warm it was Saturday through Monday.

    Vilas County

Yep...UGLY!!! You guys might open in Vilas...but Oneida won't...we need more ice, which I think we may have by the weekend...but we have No snow, and nothing coming (I meant in the long range forecast..we know about the clipper Thursday, but that's about it)....I highly doubt that Oneida opens...

    12-16-24 ONEIDA COUNTY UPDATE

UPDATE 12-17-24.....took a pretty good hit Sunday into Monday....really sloppy....lost most of our snow...open areas are brown...only an inch or so in my shaded back yard...very depressing ....its colder today, and the surface puddles on the lake are freezing back up...supposed to get a dusting...

    Vilas County

Same here in Oneida....dreary, wet....YUCK!!...but there is hope...colder weather on the way, and the potential for a couple of inches of snow through Wednesday, and now looking better for an a decent Alberta Clipper for the end of the week (4 plus inches possible in areas)

    12-16-24 ONEIDA COUNTY UPDATE

Holding pattern right now....it looks awful out there...water on top of the ice, and what little snow we had melted away (I still have 1-2 inches in my back yard, but in town, it's brown and bare for the most part)....it's just a wet, dreary Monday....the good news is I had reports from local...

    Oneida County 12-5-24

12-12-24...COLD!!! 15 below zero this morning (windchills 30 to 40 below at times)....going to slowly warm up through the weekend...with a slight chance for snow Saturday .....they have really backed off on this, from 3 to 4 inches to an inch or so, and only a 30 percent chance at this...

    Oneida County 12-5-24

update 12-11-24...got some more snow 1-2 inches of fluff over night, and it's been snowing on and off all day...ground that was bare is now white again....very nice scenery with the snow today...but winds are starting to pick up, and we are expecting some bitter wind chills through...

    Oneida County 12-5-24

UPDATE....lots of melting the last 3 days (UGH).....lakes look terrible... fisherman are still reporting 2-4 inches of ice...if we can make it through today without a lot more melting we should be ok....but the snow in my yard went of 5 inches down to less than 2 as of 8 am this...

    3-5” late Sunday/Monday in Vilas

They were telling us a trace an inch down here....we ended up with 3-4 with another inch of power on top of that...My mom's place up by Lac Du Flambeau, had a good 5-6 inches....with another 2" of fluff on top of that.....it was nice to see after how we started last year, but the lakes aren't...

    Arctic Cat layoffs etc.

Quiet?? Nice...I was wondering how they compared...haven't ridden in one yet...noise and vibration..are a huge deal for some of us.. Certain Polaris models seem very loud compared to the Defender, and I noticed Kawi has quite a bit more horsepower than either one, even with their base model (not...
