Alot of people are calling and asking about the conditions in the YOOP (mostly our southern friends)...they have no clue what they are heading into...I tell them to bring a saw, and they ask "WHY"? ...they have no clue, or they think I'm lying I guess......I mean it's all over Facebook, pictures...

Temper your excitement....it's BAD...lots and lots of tree damage, many trails not open, and wet areas in the usual spots. Spread the word if you can...a lot of people don't realize the extent of the damage in the western U.P., and northern Wisconsin...and some folks see SNOW, and just hook up...

It's a bummer that the trails are closing again early this year...but i did get some riding in this weekend...and it was a mixed bag...yesterday was actually really good...white, smooth trails and they were hard...some ice in the corners...a few wet spots..but decent...today...melting fast..more...

100 percent...making bigger, faster more expensive machines, and forgetting about the low cost, family machines...now all of them reintroduced low end models in the last 5 years.....but they arent selling well...and imo it's too late...we skipped an entire generation of potential riders...lost...

All of us old guys grew up doing this as a family sport....and we had the "family" feeling out riding with friends and club members...that has disappeared....it's become a rich person, spoiled kid sport (there are 16 year old kids riding newer, nicer sleds than I have)...unfortunately...

There is nothing strange about it....we had Wednesday night , and Thursday to brush 275 miles of trails...some trails looked like a tornado went through, so many downed trees that it was impassible....hours and hours of work, an impossible task to get done in a day and a half (they gave us...
