I don't think I can post the link here but you can find it on the NWS Duluth website if you want. I'm always curious to see how this forecast compares to JD's seasonal forecast. Just an fyi.

    Gordon Lightfoot has died.

I appreciate that every year in November I can check this forum and read some nice comments on Gordon Lightfoot and the power of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. The lure of the lake and the northwoods is strong with you folks and I do appreciate that (even as a non-snowmobiler!).

    April 20

I see that the 2" of snow that Duluth got today put us over the top; it has now been a record-setting snowfall season (137.2"). Nearby, Bayfield, WI destroyed its old record, with 182" so far this season. That's still nothing for you Yoopers, though!

What is your favorite UP ghost story or "haunted" location?

Halloween is my favorite holiday by far, and I love reading about regional legends, folklore, and ghost stories. Do you have a favorite UP ghost story or "haunted" location? My favorite story is probably about the Crying Cabin near Marquette. How about you?

Have you heard of the lost "Wall of Silver" mine in the Keweenaw?

I was watching a TV show this evening and they mentioned the lost "Wall of Silver" mine in Michigan. This website discussion suggests it may be near Phoenix, MI. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/treasure-legends-michigan/111596-tale-wall-silver-mine-up-keweenaw.html I love a good lost...

Is there anywhere in the UP where natural snow lasts until July?

On my morning jog, I sometimes ponder the heavy things in life. I seem to recall some pictures posted on this forum several years ago showing John and others riding in early June on a few patches of snow way up high on the spine of the Keweenaw. Did this happen or am I completely...

    Question about snowmobiling at night.

Hi everyone. First, I'm not a snowmobiler, so this might be a silly question. I'm simply a snow lover and I visit this site to learn more about weather and general goings-on in northern WI and the UP. I really enjoy going for a drive in the middle of the night, say 2-3am or so. I find it...
