Ok, so let's keep working together here. Thanks again for kind words to all but we have a update. I've had two great customers call with leads. We now have a good time line. I have on camera the truck and trailer that took the XCR. It's a crew cab diesel Dodge white in color. It's hooked up to a nice big 5th wheel toy hauler. They took the sled at 9 eastern Saturday. Approximately a hour and half before that a all white new GMC Yukon XL pulled in casing the sled situation. As the vehicle pulled out it was clear they were checking out my shop as the license plate was removed. This is a start!

They were seen traveling together.

Glad to hear your are getting some info in, Hope it leads to someone knowing something to get these assholes caught

Kip I understand your frustration. The biggest thing is that it should not happen in Greenland Mich and you are right. But it did. I am sure you have some kind of insurance on it so just take the settlement and learn from it. They are not going to 'catch' the bandits and even if they did the most they would get out of it is 'possession of stolen property'. Which is a big nothing. They probably would not even get a fine much less any jail time. Too much time has already passed and there is no way anyone can be identified beyond doubt. It is over. Been there done that. The laws in place favor the criminal. Unless a murder happens law enforcement can't do much any more. And even if they do something the courts will likely throw something like this out. If I were you I wouldn't even want the sled back at this point. Who knows what shape it is in? They are slime beyond a doubt but nothing can be done about it. As was stated earlier you probably won't be leaving sleds or ATVs out and ready to go in the future. And this is bad for all of your good customers which far outnumber the slime. Once again the few have spoiled it for everyone else. Welcome to the rest of the world Greenland Mich.

Kip, might be a bit tedious but now that you think you know the vehicles, what about checking with local hotels, resorts or whatever in case they had cameras or took license plates down due to parking restrictions, even though they may have been smart enough (and I dont mean to give them a compliment) to remove plate when scoping you out, maybe they were idiotic enough to stay somewhere close in the mean time. just a thought.

They will never register the XCR. They will just use another sled's numbers and get stickers that way. Have you ever been stopped by the DNR or anyone else that matches up serial numbers with registration stickers? As long as there are current stickers and permits the DNR doesn't care. Also the average DNR officer doesn't know or care whether the sled is a Pol or a Cat or whatever. It will be recovered when it is totaled and abandoned somewhere. Then they will trace the serial back to Kip. Maybe.

I mostly agree with what you posted grub. However, I have had the numbers checked for them matching several times in different areas. I suspect they were possibly looking for a stolen snowmobile? I have heard of this happening quite regularly in the high snowmobile traffic areas of Sconny, Minocqua/Woodruff, and such.

I understand Grub but I think we're going to get them. Local Sheriff is pulling footage from every direction and there's only so many ways to leave Greenland. Yes we will change our ways but I feel we will get them. Yes I have insurance. It's not about the money right now, it's about the reckoning. You don't come to my house and disrespect my family business. I will see this through!

Told my husband about the theft. He says when they register it the numbers will pop. I replied they will get out of state tags. I have never in WI, MI, or MN had to hand over a vin number to get an out of state trail pass. I know for WI because when we first bought my daughters sled I lost the proof of purchase. So in order to let her ride legally while the new proof showed up I a resident of Wisconsin walked into a Farm n Fleet and bought a nonresident trail pass. No fuss whatsoever. If there is no video footage of the truck or trailer it will be one of us who commits the last numbers of the vin to memory and checks the vin of every sled like this they see at a bar, hotel, or restaurant. I would be surprised if the sled is in Michigan (yes I know some people are just stupid), but WI or MN is more likely. Or they will sell it to someone on Craigslist, Facebook , or Sledswap who will get an ugly surprise when they register it. It also goes to show that they have no idea how much loyalty you have Kip. I'd have picked somewhere else to rob.

Lmao, dumbest comment EVER!
I am sorry I guess this is supposed to be a thread about getting the word out but was it not last year he was mad that people were driving off with not paying for fuel so you know the element exists.

This is a picture of the person that took the sled walking in the parking lot

Let’s get together here, take a long look at those photos, that is absolutely a one of a kind trailer, there’s not too many around like that I’m sure, someone has got to have seen that trailer somewhere so let’s see what we can do for our friend Kip

Seems as a rig such as that would be a big red flag target for law enforcement if no tags displayed? Both truck and trl. Stay calm and patient, it's just like fishing to get your "catch"!

Absolutely and maybe some of you know of people or businesses that have cameras along highways or interstates. Like I said, only so many ways out of Greenland.

Judging by the vehicles these are not your typical crackheads thieves. Not many people towing toy haulers around in the winter. Hot shot hauler maybe?

The vehicle that came earlier in the day is a 2018 or 2019 Chevy Suburban in Diamond white. It does not say Yukon or Denali on the drivers door. So its a Chevy or they removed that piece of trim. That's an expensive vehicle.

And perhaps it's also stolen, eh?
