Polaris better do something with the 4s....................................................
I did hear from the Supertrax guy at Novi that poo had a sled that they sampled and thought it was a 700 but was a 600. I think he said a 2 injector instead of 4.

That is the 600 motor that is in the 2012 600 RMK. Only the RMK 6 has this 2 injector motor.
Just my opinion, but I think Ski-Doo should work on having a trouble free, rock solid big bore motor before worrying about a new chassis to shove it in.
Are you sure my 800 isn't 2 injectors also?I did hear from the Supertrax guy at Novi that poo had a sled that they sampled and thought it was a 700 but was a 600. I think he said a 2 injector instead of 4.

nah ski doos fine...like the '11 800 etechs that are all blowing up and nobody blows that out of porportion but when poo had issues in '09 it was a national crisis! Lol lets hope mfgs work on making longer lasting engines...seems to be the biggest issues in recent years. I vote go back to carbs!
What's wrong with the 800's? I've got the HO and Powertech in my Renny and Summit. Never had an issue with either powerplant.
You are in the minority. From 04 thru the current 800etec's they have had many different issues causing burn downs. Reed cage delamination, cylinder walls chipping, crank and bearing issues, piston and ring issues, you name it there have been problems with it in the doo 800's.
I am a die hard Ski-Doo rider owning both the 1000's and 800's in the past but have shied away from their big engines, preferring the 600's that I can run 10-12000 miles without issues. I like to ride miles and need reliability..
If I was the minority, then Doo would have some pretty massive PR issues along with lawsuits. I guarantee there are/were far more without issues than with. Cranks / Rings were all early models. I think you meant to say boot delamination rather than reed cage, but again...., that was an early model, and not part of the powerplant itself. Haven't seen/heard much about chipping cylindar walls or the actual pistons - but, that would be a direct result of the (early on) failure of the rings (and or) pin failure that would cause piston/cylindar damage. All in all, your really looking at some early issues with Rings (2003-2004), and a few crank issues here and there. (Not a mass exodus). The others you mention are either not part of the powerplant itself, or a direct result of the above mentioned issue. Other than that, the HO and Powertech's have been pretty rock solid, for what you can expect out of a carbed 800. And if your looking to get 10 to 12000 miles out of an engine, your probably right. The 800 might not be the best choice, but I would say that across the board of the other manufacturers as well.
P.S - Sorry for getting off track. I've heard rumors that 2014 is the year for doo's new release.
