so what is Link Extras=$ mean?

- - - Updated - - -

any turbo lag when you hit the flipper or does it pull like your Apex?
thanks
I didn’t notice any turbo lag at all in standard or sport didn’t use eco. Sport feels just like the raw power of my xtx probably due to the huge weight difference power to weight ratio. 900t power is right in my sweet spot. 200 hp of SW is too much imo if I have it I’ll use so better for my health to max out at 150 especially on a very nimble sled like the Enduro. 900t gets very high marks from me.

Buy right sell right.
I don't fall in love with my sled, its machinery, 2,000 miles on 2 sleds this year at 45 cents a mile depreciation, no slides or skegs either.

You count sales tax in that too? If so you're killing it.

Hi everyone. I'm curious to get some experienced opinions on the Ace 900 Turbo Ski-doo's. I have never ridden one although I have put a few miles on the non-turbo renegade. As a trail rider, the renegade would be a likely choice although not with the non-turbo 900. So, for anyone who has spent time on the trail with an Ace 900 turbo, what are your thoughts? Are you impressed with the power? Is there a noticeable lag in the turbo? Any other pro's or cons?
Thanks

I was just trolling the Doo talk site and read 8 or so threads and it seems this machine has much upside compared to other Doo 4 strokes but tops out at 90 with a 200 lb man onboard, that is simply too slow.
No, I don't ride over 70 much but..I do ride over 80 on grades off and on for fun and even see 100ish.
Is the 900 too slow? For me yes, it'll have to be the 850.

Oh yeah, the most discussed topic is 22 pages of "throttle-mapping", looks like this is an issue leftover from the 900 non-turbo.
I can attest, riding the 850 Doo in the woods and tap the throttle too much and your picking skis up. If you are accustomed to that any other throttle pull will feel slow.

The 900T has decent amount of power and the turbo is small so spooling up quick so any bit of lag is less than I noticed on the Winder.

Pros-Handling, Quiet, Comfortable, Power, 16-20 MPGs, Fit and finish, Throttle ease and adjustability, Belt life, Easy access to oil and filter, Storage spaces, Lotsa link goodies available...

Cons-Brake disc rattle'n, Link Extras =$, Throttle modes needs to be more user adjustable.

2000miles and so far its on track to be the best damn sled I've ever owned...

There is no turbo lag on a Sidewinder. None. Nada. Zero. What you are feeling is the ITC throttle. The 900 T was not designed to compete with the Sidewinder on the big end and it never will. SkiDoo doesn't even care about that. It was also not designed to compete with their own 850. It was designed for big mile trail cruisers where gas mileage is also a factor. It is not as light on the front as the 850 which is good for a trail cruiser. If it went about 12 miles an hour faster it would be the perfect new sled for Whitedust. It might be anyway. Apex speedometers are a long ways off. It would be interesting to line up an Apex and a 900 T and see what happened.

Well if whitedust is up to it we can settle that next week!

The Sidewinder is ridiculous I think the power makes it easier to ride in twisty trails. Decisions on keeping my Viper or which Turbo I want but have all this Yamaha gear. I was reading about the 900 turbo there is a high mileage guy on DooTalk seems they have trouble with frozen relays also.

I had trouble with frozen relays last season. Put in 4 Polaris relays this season and problem solved. Not that big of a deal. If they do freeze all you do is take them out and warm them up and put them back in. Not a big enough issue to buy or not to buy a sled. In stock form a Sidewinder is not going to be fast on tight trails. It is too tall and it is too heavy. It will wear you out. If you get the front end to bite like it should you will be climbing all over it to prevent it from high siding. Yami lowered the 2019 SRX and that has made a noticable difference according to many as far as tight trail handling. My 18 will need the shocks rebuilt after this season and I am thinking about lowering it down to SRX ride height. Most of my riding is on tight stuff.

I had a 201 XF9000 turbo LXR, I rode it for 3500 miles in Vilas Co WI... sold the sled and changed to a 2019 XF6000 CC Why ?? the 9000 tired you out by the end of the day pushing around 750 pounds in the twisty trails.... on lakes and the RR grades of UP, nothing beats this sled..... a Lazy boy chair with a jet engine.

Ok dfattack basically outed me. Lol I needed to tell Kip myself before going public Pat’s has been good to me for 12 years of Yamaha ownership. Kip was a stand up guy about it always thought he would be I wanted him to hear it from me not second hand. I bought a 2019 Renegade Enduro 900 Ace Turbo from Ben Parling at Lando Rec. Ben has been working very hard to get my business over many years without much reward until now. The short version is I wanted a lighter 150 4s sled that was trail friendly for mile big mile day trips common for us 250 miles. I wanted good gas mileage the xtx got 15 consistenty but I saw 18 and 25mpg on Twistys where I’m breaking in the Enduro which is still controlled by break in chip at so many hours of use the full hp will be released. I’m happy to answer any questions you have regarding the Enduro turbo compared to My 2012 Apex. The creature comforts of the Enduro are fabulous and a bonus to me rotating throttle, stock renegade riser, adjustable carbide skis, air ride and the heated seat are must haves now I have those features. The eco, standard and sport mode are very useful too. I didn’t think so but when just poking along in Twisty by my self it’s nice to back into arm friendly mode, when riding with the guys in Twistys standard is plenty, running grades sport will be perfect but only had short conditions that would allow a wfo blast. The linq system is very discreet and convenient for the user so much better than saddle bags. As always I’m breaking in this baby easy before I ask it for wfo. I always keep up on technology of my toys and if there is significant new technology it has to be evaluated. Ok guys ask away I sure wish I knew somebody that had made the Apex eps switch to Enduro turbo for me to reference.

I can see why Yamaha has not given what works best for you.

I waited and waited and waited some more for a Yamaha Enduro and just did not happen. If you like the procross hard steering monster power the Sidewinders or Thunder Kitty is in your wheel house. Buds with Vipers seem to like them but have problems for me Viper didn’t click after 2012 Apexxtx

Forgot to mention Lando Rec has a nice Renegade X for a demo. Test ride exactly like Pat’s at least for me call asked Ben set date showed up with buds allowed us all to test ride couldn’t have been nicer about it. Dfattack got in on that action liked it a lot more than he thought he would now saying next sled will be Enduro turbo also on Apex xtx has 11 and 12.

Nice! Curious what you think of the ITC? Some guys on DooTalk are absolutely losing their minds over it, and I really have no idea what they are referring to. I can only assume most of them are coming from 850 2 strokes, and just don't like the feel.

To me that’s a bunch of yakking about standard Ace I didn’t have any problems at all with the Itc on the turbo and no one else did either in our group. Put an ultra high adjustable windshield on the Enduro and comfortable as can be. Imagine the handwarmers work well too. Not so much on Apex for comparison out of box features.

Thanks Russ. It’s a sweet ride and I’m riding just about everyday while the snow is good give me holler I’ve been riding west since Phelps trails are such a mess with endless grooming problems. FRs aren’t rideable without a mountain sled too much snow so I’m sticking to groomed trails.
