It was only a matter of time for Skidoo to put something out that would rival Yamahas 4S .Yamaha has been standing still for years its sad but hey i love the sport and loyal to my riding needs ,if one company cant fill those needs u move on But i hope Yamaha will come back with something great but will see ,for right now my 2 boys will be on Apexs and i will be looking at upgrading in the fall.

Congrats whitedust! It was easy to see your want for a better ride. And fear not, Rotax was building 4-stroke engines 45 years prior to Yamaha's first 4 stroke. Yamaha lost its want to build snowmobiles many years ago. They lied to me about a "All new,all Yamaha snowmobile". No dice! Glad to see you now got a sled that handles like a snowmobile should. Now you won't want to quit riding for the day, you'll enjoy that! Yes, my wifes 900 NA will top out at 90mph. In sport and standard mode, there is no throttle lag on it either.

Well, well, well the Yamahahaha diehard finally got into the 21st century and bought a real suspension. Better late than never. Can’t believe you stuck it out this long! I lasted 5 years on that archaic iron. I was beginning to wonder about you! Congrats.
Tell me you don’t already see a night and day diff in ride and handling?

yes WD you are gonna be soooooooo happy you made the switch to doo !!
keep us posted

Dial in Sport and will rip your arms off , standard powerful too. Eco is duffer speed topped out at 70 for me just wanted to see what eco would do. Not enough straights so far to top it in Standard or Sport. 3 Apex owners all said plenty of hp with Ace turbo. I’m a mid range punch it guy rabbit starts tearing up groom not my style mid range punch is there or I would’ve bought.
WD- how did it do on the straight in UP. never seen your feedback after going north
thanks

It was a very warm day with wet snow riding with dfattack but when I got in the open I let the 900t loose saw 103 mph in sport and 101 mph in standard there was more in sport but I was pulling up too close on dfattack so had to back off. I’m very pleased with the 900t engine and the features of the Enduro.

Yes, wd...Ski Doo guys need a constant pump...I think you will enjoy your new needy tribe.....not!....LOL

Idk owned them all and enthusiasts are always curious about new models and engines. I know where they are coming from and the Enduro 900t grabbed me and I toohad to work thru the Renegade line up and for me the Enduro had every amenity that I needed. I’m a 4s rider so really just Yamaha and Skidoo to consider and Yamaha had nothing between 125 and 200 hp so a lighter doo 150 hp 4s was right in my wheelhouse. Really nothing else compares at that power to weight 4s ratio. If one needs to be at 200 4s ponies the SW and Thunderkitty are alone in that segment. The Renegade 900t is also alone in the 4s 150 hp segment. I wish there was more to sort thru but The doo 900t 4s has that market locked up for now. Maybe Yamaha will wake up and fill their 4s market segment holes in the future but I don’t see any signs of that happening sad to say.

Only if you're talking factory stock...I had the ECU on my '14 Viper X-TX reflashed by Evolution Powersports and ran it the last 2 1/2 seasons at right around 160-ish hp on 87 octane pump....never had a chance to try it against my buddy's 900t because I moved on the a Sidewinder before this season...

Absolutely talking about out of box factory stock market segments. Lol I never mod an engine buy it to do what’s its supposed to do bone stock and keep warranty in tack. You start talking expensive mods you can bump up hp start talking 300 hp for the SW. lol I have zero interest in engine mods.

Thing is none of these mods touches the engine at all....all you're (they're)doing is loading a different map into the ECU...I had a couple different warranty issues fixed after reflashing, although neither were engine related and I had to warn them to never touch the ECU at the dealership...plus the performance flash also cured the starter kickback issue...

No need to worry snobuilder, I'll save a space for ya, eh? Yeah, well, be nice now!

I got plenty a space on 3 160 hp NA sleds, 2 of which are 100#'s less than the Fat 900 turbo with way fewer moving parts to worry about.
The other is a PS APEX that feels way lighter than it is and has a sweet 4 cylinder pull the rest a youse can only fantasize about.....LOL....Oh yea....one more thing....none of them look like a GD Daffy Duck....LOL

I'm sorry, can you please explain what you are trying to say? I get the middle part about the power steering apex that feels lighter and has a sweet 4 cylinder pull, but I don't get the rest.

Thanks

Not sure what old abe meant by " I'll save a space for ya," but if yur analyzing my every word you should have also read the quote I replied to....and I'm sure you did....

my 2 other sleds are 800 2 strokes at 160 hp NA and 100 >pounds< lighter than the 900 turbo this thread is about.....what is so hard to comprehend?...don't need a turbo and all the extra crap that goes with it to get a 160 hp sled on the snow.

So you’re telling us pound per pound a 2s is lighter than a 4s. I never would have guessed must be all those extra 4s engine parts eh? Lol
