That's a real bummer! Just curious about a few things. One, what was your average oil consumption or how many miles per quart? Two, what MPG's were you getting? Three, if you ever changed plugs, how did they look - lean or rich? Wondering if your sled was running on too little of oil and/or had a lean condition.......

And of course the most famous question of all...what two-stroke oil were you running?

Hope they have you back up and running quickly -

me to....

Ok. My rush burnt down as well. I wasn't even gonna post this on the web because I thought it was strange freak happening that a 600 Polaris blew up. Mine blew up to. PTO side. Ring stuck. Getting a free rebuild I guess but....... I was running the VES gold plus. I had 2800 miles on it. I was seeing 10-14 mpgs. Only used 2 gallons of oil last year (on 2800 miles, frnash do the math for me would ya..... ha ha) Sled ran great. Plugs look nice and brown. Maybe it is running to lean.. I would rather add more oil and get 8-10k miles on a motor. My dealer, M and M Lawn and Leisure in rushford mn (507-864-7781 by the way....) is great though. Gave me a Rush to ride, doing the overhaul the rightway and might even just have to turn my oil pump up for me..... Oh and did you know the kind of info that computer records?? Wild stuff.....

Im not sure if it was the gas or not. My sled is very touchy with fuel, and we both filled up at same time with same hose. My sled ran perfect all weekend.

My brother has a 09 600 IQ that blew up last year.

Ask littlewagner about his attempt at powerline riding. hahaha

My friend Mark just bought a Rush

Thats sucks.....very true about a quick pour straight in the tank for insurance. May not be as crisp on the throttle and a little extra smokey but it may give you the oil you need in a lean spot. My friend Mark just bought a new Rush 800 and he rides pretty hard, we'll see how long it lasts.

He uses polaris gold oil. Plugs were good, not rich, but not too lean.

I think he sucked in snow. It was snowing pretty hard, and then the snow dust. Just have to see what the dealer says. Polaris isnt exactly known for having good sealed up air intakes. I had to seal mine up on my IQ.

Seems like that is not very much oil consumed. Assuming an average of 12mpg over 2800 miles and you were burning oil at 116:1. That is extremely lean on oil. Seems like Polaris likes to factory setup at 40:1. I know our group of IQ's all run around 50:1. I would definitely have the dealer check out your oil pump cable adjustment. Good luck...

the extra oil may help lube your bearings but the more oil in your gas the leaner you will run the injectors or carb will only allow a certain amount of fuel/oil in to the jug at one time the oil will not burn off like the gas so you will actually run more lean.it may help with a coating on the jugs and bearings but will not make a richer fuel mixture

Shouldnt have to add premix to a $10K sled.

...Arctic Cat....no.......Polaris yes...........Just jokin...Your right...i didnt add any too my 02 ZR 800 efi either, never had a problem. I had a couple friends that would add oil to thier tanks but they were much older sleds. I prefer EFI because the computer has several sensors to indicate when the motor is running lean and can retard the timing a bit. And Polaris has a setting on some for low octane fuel.......I have to disagree that adding oil to your tank does not make it richer...you can see it in the exhaust, once that oil is mixed it will burn right along with the fuel no matter how much or long you hold the throttle.
