Hey brown50rn, just save your old Amsoil jugs and fill them up with the sea&snow. That's what I did for the first few years. I finally got called out on it when my riding partners running Amsoil had way dirtier valves than me and couldn't figure out why, I finally had to come clean! •••• I even had Amsoil sticker on my sled!

It's always a battle but worth the ribbing we give each other. Last year I marked my jug and I think it was used up in the first day when I wasn't around so I guess that wasn't the answer. In fact, it made it easier to find mine. Actually I get accused of using others as well so it seems someone is always giving paybacks

I've been following this debate for a while so I feel comfortable enough about switching.

I am pretty sure i am going to run my first tank of oil down as low as I can get it, then in goes the Sea and Snow. Any suggestions on chain case oil or should I just stay with the skidoo oil? Thanks for the replies!!

I sense insecurity amungst these Sea and snow users. You don't have to justify your communist support and cheapness to any of us. Don't cry to me because your job went over seas. You buy from the enemy and they prosper. And what do we do? flounder. Amsoil because it works. dave m, are you being sarcastic? those valves are not clean. maj16, back to your question. If the sled is under warenty ask the dealer if your covered. I don't care what the ratings say, it is a matter of how much hassle you going to receive from the dealer if you have a problem. This is a huge gray area. Personally I would not put $12 a gallon oil in a $12,000 sled or 87 octane in a sled built for 93 octane, and neither does the guys I ride with. Cheap is Cheap.

Polarisrider1. How is buying oil that is made in the good old USA have to do with jobs going over seas ? I thought that if you bought something that was made in the states that was a good thing. Citgo makes yamalube. So if I go to the dealer and pay top doller for yamalube that will make it better than citgo. Now I am confused.

I thought I was supporting all the Citgo workers in Lemont Il? So if your one of the Union workers at Citgo you must be a communist. So if it can be refined here with all American workers why can't shell or mobil price oil of this quality for the same price? I am tired about hearing about this warranty that it will not be covered, Is their actually someone that ever had a problem with warranty work?

Wow! how things twist. lol jay. I am refering to everyone being "Out for the Deal" no matter who makes the products. We all know cheap is not made here. "Buy American" is what I am saying or at least from a US Company. We need to keep the money here. The economy will continue to suck as long as we are a "me-me and only me and to heck with you" society. Chavez is not making anything. He is stealing oil from the Venezulan people. He keeps prices low to gain our dollar. Laughs all the way to the bank. In his mind and in reality he is doing damage to the USA. I don't support that.

Thanks to Skylar a few years ago I switched to S&S and have been very happy. All the guys in our group run it too. I have 6000 miles on one sled with it and 8300 on the other with no problems. Valves are easy to clean, usually just wipe off. Before these sleds my other sleds had close to 6000 miles with S&S with no problems. I used to use Amsoil and when it got to $25 a gallon I said that is enough, especially when I buy 6 plus gallons a year. I have gotten many people to switch over to it and all have been happy with it. Dealers will still cover an engine failure if this oil is used since it meets specifications.

I love it, this is an annual HOT Topic..... I really don't care what anybody runs for oil. I started out with Yamalube 2s in my 03 800 only because I had a case of it. I used it for a season and I never had any issues with dirty valves. Yes I checked them at season end! I stopped by my dealer and they ripped me on the fact that it was the worst oil I could use and I better use the Polaris synthetic. About 600 miles later my sled started running bad and the mag valve came out with alot of resistance and pto valve was stuck. I sucked all the oil out of the tank again and replaced with Yamalube 2s and never a problem again. 4 of us tried several different oils in our ves polaris sleds and documented results. 3 of us use Yamalube 2s/Sea&snow and the other uses amsoil intercepter. Everybody is happy and has had no problems.....

My 2 cents. Are you more American buying the Toyota made in USA, or the Ford Fusion made in Mexico? I was UAW 15years, bought the Chevy Silverado made in Flint. My tax dollars paid for the GM bailout. But low in behold they ship my job to Mexico, I'm out of a job. So what is fair? What is being American? Oh by the way how much communist stuff made in China do you have sitting around. Its a tough call, your loyal as can be and get scr**ed anyway.

Wow, never thought my little question would spark such debate. I think there is enough backing for me to use the S&S in my '03 Cat, that being said, I now have 7 gallons sitting in the shed, it was $11.79 a gal at Mill's-couldn't walk out of there without it! I think I should have enough for the season!

I don't care where Citgo is refined, that's not the point. It's sold to the US as crude oil and the company is Venuzuelan. Venuzuela is ruled by a thugish communist dictator. Not a surprise that nobody cares about this anymore, guess made in America no longer makes a difference. Who cares if our jobs disappear outside the border, right? What the heck, the leader of the now socialist free world bows to foreign emperors so I guess that means we all should get on our knee's for China and Korea. What a joke. (sorry)

I just visited Gander Mountain in my search for sea and snow. All they had was Marine Plus Two-Cycle oil. I am having a hard time tracking any down here in SE MI.
