What brand of 4 stroke oil are you going to run in your 4 stroke? Shell, Penzoil, Mobil, Valvoline, Havoline, Supertech, Yamaha, Ski-Doo, Polaris, Arctic Cat, Quaker State, Castrol, Motorcraft, Kendall, Royal Purple, Conoco, Exxon, Union 76. Still have a boat load of choices eh?

Valvoline 10w-40, Now what kind of filter? Fram of course! This oil thing never ends up anywhere. I put Polaris 100% synthetic in my chain case today. I was going to use something like "sea and be seen" or something like that. I asked him does this void warranty? He looked over his glasses and said," What do you think?" I bought the Pol.chaincase oil over brand B. It was the same price anyways. I was also thinking about getting brand "C" (Cat oil) since it had a built in spout for easy install and was premeasured. No, I had to spend a buck at the dollar store for a mixing cup and a buck for a funnel. Why is life so difficult?

haha very true Skyler! But at least I only have to worry about once a year and not every trip. I will prob be sticking with Amsoil, as I have never had a problem with it in any sleds and truck! And it may cost more but since I only need to change it once a year not as concerned!

brown, I put a couple of ounces of S&S in my gas after each fill up. yeah, it runs rich, but don't care. after 4,500 mi, I figured I better pull the carbs to clean em for the first time. I put them right back in. there wasn't a spec of dirt or buildup in the carbs. been using S&S since the sled was new. I run it in all four sleds, injectors and in the gas.

Holy crap..how many times is this Sea & Snow posting going to be brought up??? Just use a good quality oil in your sled and you will be good. A motor doesnt "blow up" from the "Brand" of oil you are using. It may from the wrong "type" but not from the brand. There are many many things that can cause a motor to blow up and alot of guys are first to blame the oil.

Anyone have some pics of their Polaris exhaust valves removed after running the Citgo oil for approx. 1-2,000 miles?

Curious to see what they look like as I have yet to be sold on any oil that keeps the Polaris valves cleaner than another.

I've used Polaris VES and their regular injection oil with hardly any difference in the valves being cleaner with the VES oil. With the Amsoil Interceptor, they were somewhat better.

i just switched to sea and snow in my indy 500. i have a gallon of polaris oil for the 2 700's which i'l run thru them first and if i like the sea and snow, i might switch to it for the $11 gallon. that money really adds up

Can't belive I missed this! His scored pistons and cylinder were due to the cracks in his throttle body boots, leaning the motor out. Had nothing to do with the oil.

The continuing Saga. Since this post started, I have become an Amsoil preferred customer. I found out that oil weighes roughly 2.1#'s for a qt. I "prit ner" killed the UPS guy when he brought cases and cases of the stuff to my house. Switched the bikes to the 20-50w synthetic for Harleys. The Hemi got 5-20w. synthetic, sleds got Dominator, Wife's car got some 10-40w., weed wacker, leaf blower, chain saw got some premeasured 100:1 ratio stuff. and the boat ( 2 V- drive 350 300hp) got the 10-40w Amsoil synthetic marine oil. The new deep fryer got Meijer brand canola oil. Been busy changing oil and waiting for snow. I may look for a job soon. Maybe Jiffy lube???

running 100% synthetic in a brand new engine

I think you are suppose to run a Non - Synthetic oil when breaking in an new engine. After a couple of tanks than you can run 100 % Synthetic. Is this a true statement ? Please confirm !

I have also heard that was true I was told that way back in the day when ridding the 3 cyl 2 stroke Kawasaki street bikes and the rz350 Kenny Roberts. would think it still applies I still do it.they said it was because non synthetic broke in rings better not as slippery
